If someone could please help me on the UPI question... I've answered that the consequence of UPI would be effectiveness of DBT on the lines that since there are last-mile challenges for people in remote areas to access brick-and-mortar bank branches - they could use UPI to easily access their bank accounts. All the answer keys say that the implication would be that mobile wallets will not be necessary for online payments. I don't get how this could be the right answer. Investors are still pumping money into the mobile wallet biz (right?) - even after UPI was introduced. Why would they invest if mobile wallets are on the verge of becoming obsolete? Even otherwise, the business case for mobile wallets stays after UPI. Mobile wallets have lower security checks and hence transactions are faster. Besides, people may prefer keeping their main bank accounts off cyberspace, given the threats prevalent, and use mobile wallets instead to keep their risks low. This is the line of reasoning that led me to (d)
will not be necessary means u ll have 2 options.. wallet is not the only way..
Going by that line of argument, mobile wallets were never necessary for online payments since you always had NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, etc. as alternatives
