As the discussion title suggests, which of the three is better for basic and strong foundation of history?
Some say that the quality of old NCERTs are irreplaceable. Since old NCERTs have been stopped, some say that new NCERTs are relevant now a days and questions will be asked from them. Mrunal suggests that TN 11th and 12th text books are more than enough as it is simple, easy to understand and covers the required areas. He also quoted the answers for some Prelims questions from TN books as a proof.
Combo 1:
Ancient & Medieval History - TN 11th text book.
Modern History - Spectrum + Bipin Chandra's "Struggle for Independence" (blue cover book)
Combo 2:
Ancient & Mediaeval History - New NCERTs from 6th to 12th.
Modern History - Spectrum + Bipin Chandra's "Struggle for Independence" (blue cover book)
I am a beginner. Fresher.
Restriction of source is important I guess. If I want to choose among these 3 sources, what should I choose?
I have minimised to the above 2 combos. Which combo helped or will help in clearing the exam?
PS : It will be better if either rank holders/toppers/people who have read all the 3 sources comment in this thread, so that information overload can be avoided. If anyone is confident enough to suggest can also comment.
Thank You in advance.

old ncerts are like essays which doesnot follow proper arrangement of dates and events.... content is rich in tamil nadu book.
i suggest tamil nadu book+themes in indian history part 2.
How did the TN books and new NCERTs benefit you than the old NCERTs?
