Upsc might never go back to its old pattern again. Also in all other exams like capf nda etc CA has ruled the roost...so pattern seems to continue for this yr as well.

This is exactly what I feel. Upsc and goi want to bring in a younger lot, and eliminate oldies...this might reflect in goi accepting committee recommendations too, next year or in 2019, to reduce the age also to 26.

age limit nahi kam hogi , yeh sarkar vote ki bhuki hai age limit kam karne se vote to agli baar nahi milega aur commitee ki aajtak koi recommendation lagu nahi hui hai itihas gawa hai

Veterans have a solid static base. They can focus more on CA than newcomers.
I dont think inculcating more CA can reduce number of seniors writing mains.
Last time too more veterans qualified than newcomers.
