Butchering is for real is what my experience tells me. History butchered this year, like Geography last year.
First look how pathetic people write.. butchering is complete myth,, writing GS answer in geography, history will not get ur marks.. there is no things such as butchering.. u have to give geographical angle etc.. examiner should be able to distinguish a geography answer from GS answer.. post answers of those people who u think have been butchered, will make you understand they write poor and nothing butchered
and in history historical angle right u don't have any idea . last yr 6 students got irs with law all r out this year. they write pathetic answer
The law paper was different ball game altogether this time. Till last year one could clear law with selected study going by the previous trends and previous year papers. But, this time the paper required complete knowledge of legal syllabus prescribed. Plus, your friends being in service might not have got enough time to change their preparation strategy for law and add anything new to what they already knew. That's what I feel. May be, I am wrong.
u may be right to some extent. But in general category hardly any selection this yr. my frds generally got cut-off+50-80 marks range from cse 2013 some got service in 14 and some in 15. so only severe damage can fail them otherwise clearing mains is relatively easy.

completely true and i agree with u. some people find it hard to digest failure and learn from mistakes getting rank once does not mean anything except that u performed well that year. people fail prelims after getting ranks. why ? did upsc butchered them.. no, but because of underpreparedness
You don't understand one thing. When people fail inn prelims they know it mostly by the time the results come out. But mains is subjective. You have to take that into account. Even after a good performance from your side, things may not turn out rosy.

a century in one match does not mean century in next match. pitch bowling attack changes and batsman fail. mr timepas learn to accept failures.. u must have failed 3-4 times i.e why frustrated. i accepted failure and trying to improve unlike u blaming the system
don't assume anything . i m not frustrated cleared prelims and mains every-time and have a service in my hand . so improve urself aur jab improve ho ke kuch parvachan dene like achieve kar lo tab dena abhi toh prelims ke liye padho it will help .
i will study for that don't worry, i am not uncle like u. .. but the mannerism u talk, god save u. impossible to believe you are in service. my friends who made through are very decent and sophisticated.

go read for interview if you are selected, which i believe is not the case. otherwise, why replying to a person simply wasting your time..

you are too laden with assumptions to hide your failure. my friend has made cut 3 consecutive times with history (secured ranks, every time, currently IRS). scoring 240 each time. so don't speak like bully but with reason.

In the survey, initially there was no option for marking history. So I marked 'others' n then informed the guy behind the survey(@gariyan). But by then around 250 guys had submitted their responses. It was then that the history option was added. So please don't evaluate history performance via this survey. Many history guys will be in 'the others' category. I think @gariyan should make this fact known along with the results, if possible.

haha i m not trapped because i know wat's reality. in selected people group they never boast that they have written very good paper. If they say paper was ok its ok. last yr 1 paper was not that good but score was 125 in that paper . so when everyone says paper was good i have no reason to doubt them. i have more confidence on the persons whom i know 4 years personally and professionally rather than any assumption and argument. but its part of upsc process 2014 was geo and socio era 2015 was disaster for geo . so one should prepare 4 it .
