India cannot afford to antagonize either.. so what the best way to maintain balance of relation between these two nations ( like saap bhi mar jaye or lathi bhi na tute)
One of the many ways would be people to people contacts
for ex:-
1) Team Iran is now in India to participate in the world kabaddi championship 2) We can piggyback on our Jewish citizens present mostly in A.P, Maharashtra etc to engage with the people of Israel.
Secondly, as we are presently doing, for energy security, we can tag along with Iran (sourcing oil), and engage more with Israel in defence i.e. LRSAM, BARAK-1 etc.
trilateral is not zero sum game. both need india like the way india need the other 2. 1. Israel is reliable defence supplier for india and india, one of huge defence market for israel. Similarly, Iran needs india as huge oil market while india needs iran for oil import. 2. common interests: terrorism, information/intelligence sharing, tourism - india cooperate with other individually. 3. Iran - india has common interest wrto connect central asia policy, peace, stable and secure afghanistan to prevent spill over of terrorism , containment of golden crescent etc. THere is no israel equation here. 4. Similarly india-israel also cooeprate with each other wrto terrorism, space cooperation between the 2 nations' space agencies, agriiculture etc But on other side, it can said that arab-israel hostile relation spoil the warm relation with india. But india is mature enough to balance the game.
points well made but it is still now clear how far india can take its relation with iran or israel without antagonizing either or other countries in midlde east.. i am looking for a best possible outcome which iam not sure what should be

Till there is a truce between the two nations, it is extremely difficult to balance the two
May be u may keep things simple. NO zero sum game means - de-hyphenating 1 relation with other - not combining 1 relation with other. same logic holds with india-saudi-iran; india-US-Russia; india-japan-china; india-US-china etc...
My two cents, based on below premises Core interest of Israel-Safety and security of Israel Nation state from state as well as non state actors like Hezbollah Core interest of Iran- its territorial integrity should be maintained and Saudi Arabia should be kept in check as sectarian difference plays important role in the regional politics of Middle east.
What India can do- Develop deep economic and commercial links between Israel and Iran independently . As basket of commodities are different there wont be any conflict at this stage.
Real difference will crop in strategic affairs: India should strengthen global governance structure like UNO . Israel right to existence should be acknowledged by Iran . India can facilitate developing right atmosphere in such forum apart from bilateral efforts .Further India can act as mediator between USA and Iran for solving their dispute.
