Ban All Insiders..

i request @ForumIAS and respected mods of the esteemed forum not to give legitimacy to so called insider info and insiders..even from my earlier id's i have raised the issue but time and time certain insiders are praised and supported by senior members..they give popular "janata"cutoffs which make ppl happy and mislead them for those 40 days after the exam..i understand you cannot stop individuals from expressing their opinion but u can atleast stop insiders from making their own separate threads where they provide thei mann ki baat as info.."cse cutoff 109, not more than 108, IFOS cutoff not more than 124, trend analysis..., up till now cut off is xyz" this is example of some of shit promoted by insiders..

I don't understand this "Ban" for every single thing.

First of all, had they predicted higher cut off and the actual cut off was lower, then it would be wrong on their part.
They would have misguided many, who would have stopped their mains preparation.

Now what wrong have they done?
Yes, few would have started mains preparation thinking they would clear.
Now they haven't. But there is no harm, this serious preparation will definitely help them for mains 2017.


They may have got wrong info, atleast they predicted the date right.
Else how would we ever know that results will be declared within 40 days?

We are All India service aspirants.
We are going to take decisions that will affect lakhs of people.
So when you consider insider's info, take them with a pinch of salt.

Ban is not the solution for every problem.
Rather put a disclaimer in the thread at the start.
All info given out are subjected to speculation and 2nd hand info.

I have seen that few people are so engrossed in this insidergiri that they have created a false aura around themselves, a pseudo fame. I don't think one can ban these things because this is always in high demand during result days. But what is more perplexing is people taking pride in claiming insider. One never prepared for upsc to be a popular insider in the end.I mean its ridiculous for the ppl to develop an aura around themselves by providing all kind of leaked/fake whatever information . banning insider is akin to banning nirmal baba ..the day you ban nirmal baba there will be a vaccum for the bhakts of nirmal baba and after some time another nirmal baba will be there. So its for us not to credit these people its something that we should understand .banning baba is not solution but control yourself and ignore the nonsense they will perish .

how do the "insiders " get "infos" they spread ...? is that appropriate...ethical...?

are such infos available for all other all india exams...beside cse...?

can't people prepare well w/o such infos.....?

civil servants require virtues of integrity and equanimity....do such behaviour/threads promote such virtues...?

such threads only lead to rumor mongering and provide platform for sadist people to feed upon people's insecurities.

asking for ban is futile until people themselves do not stop giving due to such so called insiders...and it's even more futile when such threads ..infos are being sponsored or supported by senior people on the forum.

But some people do provide genuine information only. No genuine insider mentioned about cut-off.
@Fuhrer said many times that getting to know cut-off is near impossible. Perhaps only before a day or so before the result date it may be possible.

@UkhaadLo had told about probable result date within a week after the exam.

These guys are genuine and don't play with emotions of people here.

We our ourselves are to be blamed too. We constantly feed the trolls, even knowing these guys are trolling. Like cut-off trends based on evaluation of OMR Sheets. This is stupidity. But still people believe them.

Ban will not provide any solution. Trolls will keep on making new profiles and starting new threads. There is a limit to steps which Mods can take. Real solution is to keep calm and ignore the cut-off predictions, which is mostly mannkibaat.

That is exactly what I was saying before results were declared... but the moderator banned me instead. He was still living in some dream world where any Tom Dick Harry had some uncle/jija/mousa in UPSC who was undersecreatry/deputy secreatray/private secretary to some top guns. Last heard: The intolerant moderator who banned me didn't clear prelims though he had thrown a party on 12th of September beleiving in one of the 'Insiders' wh gave him 'insider info' that cut-off is 108, and "he is In". Kisi ne usko party ke liye hutiya banya...aur mod hutiya ban gaya

If there is a 'true insider', it is the Art & Culture teacher at Vision IAS, who had declared with confidence at around 10 AM the result day that Prelims result would be declared by this evening. And he was smiling and very confident... But even he didn't know anythng about cut-off.
