aspirants getting 140+ in GS paper in PT...please share your strategy

it is very devastating for me to became unsuccessful in PT for 2nd consecutive year...perhaps i was one of those who paid heavy price for ousting of paper II marks in final PT score...last year i missed cutoff by less than 6 marks and this year also, i was getting 115.3 marks as per visionias and shankarias keys...now left with only one attempt, i am clueless how to start PT preparation...those who are getting 140+ marks please suggest your strategy...

  • Plz share complete strategy like how many hours u spent on particular subject..and daily study routine...we know u r just 2 months away from mains ..but we shall highly appreciate if u divert 5 min for us ppl...thanx in advance :)
  • @DrKingSchultz @hope16 @IWRA @Yo_Yo_Choti_Singh sirs, Can you please share you strategy here? What should be the best way to cover weird facts that were asked in prelims which have no values in mains ? I know you must be very busy with mains but little help can help us in scoring 140+ in next prelims. Thanks!!
  • Hey @ravi86 ,sorry you didn't make it this year. But next, you will surely do.I scored 144 in Paper-1 last year and expecting 140+ this year. So,I want to share some suggestions through my blog (as there were many things to say)

  • Static: Read books mentioned by toppers (Can refer Pulkit Garg AIR 27, 2015 at Mrunal/Vision). Revise them multiple times. Shouldn't be neglected just because this time few questions from here.

Current affairs: IE/Hindu + Vision more than enough. Just revise them again and again so that hum exam m confuse na ho.

Test Series: I solved almost all insights and vision tests. Treid many strategies like attempted 100 questions or only those which are 100% sure or 50% wale bhi. Found that for 100% and 50% sure yielded maximum marks for me. Find which suits you !

    Other Gyaan:

Put pre questions on google (suggested by AIR 13, 2015), in following way:
    "The Hindu: Neem Coated Urea"
You will get two information: 1) How to extract info for prelims from news paper 2) From which months return on investment is highest.
I found that if exam is in August 2015, max current affairs questions were from April, May and June 2015. So I decided to cover Jan '16 to July '16 Current affairs very well and made sure I will revise the april, may, june in last week. This may not be always true.

Hope it helps :) All the very Best !

Congrats on a great score. I was borderline in all tests. Vision I always found them too tough to attempt so I used them more as a revision. This year I guess Ill have to take both as tests.

Did you make C/A notes? Or read newspaper properly and revise insights and then revise vision by the end of the month since it comes out late?

All the best for mains and interview. I hope you make it

@satya255 my accuracy isnt great. In test papers also I worked better by attempting around 70 but then I was aiming for 110 - 120. What strategy for attempting do you suggest?
  • Hostestly bro there is no strategy,u have take risk to score that high.when i came out from exam hall i didnt knew that i would clear same was case in 2014 and 15.
    Ps my score in pt
    2014-133
    2015-146
    2016-136

Life is gamble luck plays a big role in life and in exam.just a week i lost out on lic aao final selection by 0.25(although not sad bcoz i probably would not have joined.already left around 7 PSU job for cse.)so just give ur best and do take risk, donot have any regret for anything in life.
