  • anyone suffering from partial memory loss? :|
    yeah..GHAJINI
bhai m serious..m suffering from partial amnesia since last 3 days.i remebr all i studied before that...but nothing since 3 days...i dont even remebr whch subject i studied yesterday..may be a joke for u,but medical experts wont deny it.
u should visit a doc. But most probably ye prelims ka khauf hai. Prelims does make a person mad, especially this new format with only one paper.
bro...its no more psychological...m feeling physical symptoms, like weakness, eyestrain, bach ache too..but seems to be nxietyy induced.
  • but u know what...

i did not come this far, to only come this far.
i will fight myself out of this... coz the only person who can help me is ME...no doctor, no neurologist, no specialist... WHY? because i m not ill, but just a bit tensed and nervous.

    veer bhogya vasundhara..

Bhai jaldi sahi ho, go and visit a good doc asap.
Start from gen phy.if he finds that you should be referred to a specialist,he would do so.
A multispeciality hosp wud be the best option

bhai i have gone to 2 docs already, will go to 3rd today,,,but no cure...my presence in prelims has become doubtful because of it...had to revise so many things, but i cannot study...it puts more strain.

anyone with similar symptoms?feeling as if someone has grabbed my brain and no oxygen supply to it...specially the muscles behind eye balls are feeling tensed and strained.

I remember you had posted some problems prior to dis.then you had also said, you had started feeling better.
I think ye better wali feel,ek dhokha thee, abi kee problem ka root cause ,usi first prob se related hoga.
Tell every symptom to a good doc.dilli mein agar ho,to pvt. Doc se better koi govt senior doc/hod rahega.
If in mumbai, you can visit 7 hills.very costly but v. Good.
Do inform ,may be i could serve you in sum way .
    thanks a lot :)

yes,,,the problem aggravated as anxiety rose...but each day lost now is putting more stress,,,3 days revison means 3 subjects revision...and now no time to make up...i wont be able to revise my own notes completely if 2-3 days more are lost...thats troubling me more.i hv made notes for most of the things,,,nd so had kept many things to revise in last 15 days...dont know wether to appear without revison or not. btw are u PLB?

yr clear nahi hua tha pre last year..
warna ek question to sahi kar li deta B)

anyway..about that high BP.. i will suggest a few things.
its too close to the D DAY to try anything drastic or sudden...
so do some basic things.. correct ur biological clock, wake up early at 5-6. go for a jog. Eat healthy. revise only. dont do a subject that u dont like at this point of time(jb itne saal me nahi interesting laga toh ab kya hi samajh me ayega). dont try to relax with modes that are completely isolated from ur preparation academically like movies etc. if u do so, then the moment u r back to the desk, u will fell more anxious. watch documentaries, lectures..anything productive for breaks.
and last but not the least....
  • NEVER STOP BELIEVING IN YOURSELF

God damn it man. What the f**k is happening with IAS aspirants. Everyday I spare some time after lunch for Forum and all I get is running into people being sick, frustrated, 'mentally ill', 'amnesiac' and what not. Obesity, high BP etc. is understandable during preparation but mental illnesses, seriously ? Last week there was actually a guy self-proclaiming to be mentally ill !!

Dekh bhai Arminius, main honestly bolunga. This is a natural reaction of your brain to a highly stressful scenario of approaching prelims. You've sub-consciously converted prelims into something Herculean for yourself. And your brain wants you to go one the path of least resistance - not giving prelims. Thus all the problem.
Prelims is not that stressful, I've qualified it thrice before with very good margins above general's cutoff (41, 35, 26). It's actually the only stage of CSE cycle where result is proportional to ur effort within a ballpark. But this whole aura of mysteriousness is knitted around it by coachings, their ads, variety of material decorated on book stores and previous year toppers.

Stop visiting doctors. Seriously. Take a break of 3-4 days. Don't think anything about prelims, amnesia etc. What worse can happen ? In worst case u'll skip prelims this year. No big deal. Many serious aspirants do it too. And next year the exam cycle has been preponed so you're not losing that much on clock. Talk and go out with some real, physical friends. Not virtual, like us. Real friends. Someone u can actually punch in the face...

And watch Hollywood movies for entertainment, quotes, actors, actresses and hot scenes. Don't bring home ideas like 'partial amnesia'. I can bet you got it from a Hollywood flick. And watch some porn for heaven's sake. Let the endorphins and serotonin flow in your system. Let nature work out its magic. You'll be surprised to find what 'nature' can do to 'partial amnesia'...
  • thanks @jack_dawson :) will try to follow what u said.
