A REPRESENTATION THAT CAN REDUCE MAINS CUT-OFF BY 25-30 MARKS

  • You have a point, So how should we convey this? Should we say that those candidates who have not filled preference for lower services should not be considered for such services hence they should not be allotted lower ranks like 400. Say, I opt only IAS/IFS and my marks allow me IRTS or IRS customs, so I should not be given a rank? But before interview how can UPSC see whether I am getting marks for IAS IFS [which are my only preferences ] or I am getting marks for IRS customs? that can be understood, only after interview marks are added and final score is calculated. Or should we say that IPS candidates should only be considered for IAS IFS, but again how will they know what service that candidate will get until his interview score is added,i.e. he will have to be allowed to get into interview so situation would remain same regardless as it is now. How would cut off for interview decrease? am I missing something here
  • How about a representation to increase interview marks to 500? may be more!!
  • 4-5 times shud b called fr intrvw..

Kahan se ye soch liye.. Dimag se ye sab nai nikalta hai..
  • You'v got a point...but is it practically possible ??
With some experience I am telling., this idea is practically impossible to be working
why is the idea impractical?. they have IAS and IFS seats with them and DAF of all candidates with them .... max it will take 3-4 more working days... + we can also campaign that selected people should get only 1 more chance for rank improvement. This Nigaverkar Committee had recommended and if Basawan Committee too recommends, it will have definitely some weight..

this comment explains why it is impracticable. U are saying that if already In service people are scoring slightly above mains cut off marks then those should be not allowed to appear for interview bcoz in your opinion they may not improve their rank.. I mean how can anyone say what happens after interview ?

Your other suggestion that " selected people should get only 1 more chance " is more reasonable demand however.

Send representation to dopt regarding increasing number of interview candidates
  • right now 4-5 times can't b done according to the notification but UPSC calls approximately 2.5 per seat. we can request it to call atleast 3- 3.2 candidates per seat. that's air enough. This would make our demand more reasonable
