The problem with Right "pseudo-intellectual TERRORISTS" is that whoever does not agrees with them is labelled with nastiest of labels. Even if the disagreement is backed by sound research and evidence. Terrorising opponents through name calling is their only weapon.
Historically Right wing has never had Real intellectuals who can do Real research and put forth Real hardcore evidence for the thing they want people to believe. They themselves being aware that what they believe/or want people to believe has no evidence to suppor it. So they push their beliefs down the throat of people. Simple. If you oppose even their 'shove down ur throat' tactics they hire goons to either kill you or scare you. Some goons work on street with knifes and pistols some goons work on Internet with words.
This is how i see the present situation of 'Intolerance'. Right is intolerant of someone opposing their view of world. Intolerance is too such an extent that they do not want the opposition to exist at all. My way or you are a Pakistani/Communist/Darbari/Congressi/Presstitute/Sickular is the new course of discussion.

Why are Pakistani flags still waved in Kashmir? Is it because some Kashmiri people still think themselves as 'Forced' Indians and assume that Pakistan can be a better country than India for them?

I am a Kashmiri Pandit thus I am more qualified to answer your question, I have grown up with Muslims who belonged to well to do families, who never faced any persecution, were never denied to exercise their rights & this will surprise you to know that there were rarely any beggars found on the streets & Kashmir had the lowest crime rate in the country. I am referring this from the police statics without exaggeration, there was only one murder reported in 30 years that too was an accidental. This speaks volumes about the robust education system in place along with good economic conditions in Kashmir.Now, the million dollar questions is despite high living satisfaction index why did the situation change. I must be candid here people of Kashmir with the help from Pakistan wanted to establish Islamic hegemony. As Jatin Pal says about misuse of AFSPA. I would like to ask him was AFSPA always in place? The answer is no. Was the PAK flag never waved prior to AFSPA ? Unfortunately the answer is yes. There have been many incidents before terrorism broke out in Kashmir when Pakistani flags had been raised not only flags but pro PAK slogans were raised & not only by the common people but also by the politicians serving in the present time as MLAs- incidents I witnessed with my eyes. Most Kashmiri Muslims are so fanatic about Pakistan that once I was celebrating Indian victory (prior to terrorism period) mason working on a house got so agitated by my merry making he hurled a brick at me which missed my eye by a whisker I was only 10 years old then. This will give you the account of hatred they have been nurturing against India since accession. The indoctrination of hatred against India is being coursed through their veins right from the young age. I remember my classmates substituting "Hindustan" with "Pakistan" In a prayer sare jahan se acha...... which we sung during assembly. It was their love for Pakistan that would surface every now & then & even when Kashmir was blooming with tranquility & peace. People lived in perfect harmony as I said earlier violence was absolutely an alien to Kashmir, but seeds of terrorism had long ago been sown- it only surfaced later I had few indications during the phase when militancy was in its dormancy & when there was seemingly an absolute peace. My class mate back then would tell me all the Kashmiri Pandits have to flee the valley in coming years & there will be a Muslim rule in the valley, in my mind I denounced it as his childish imagination & who would not for that matter, if these words come straight out of the mouth of class 5th student. In the year 1989, the terrorism raised its head & many innocent Kashmiri Pandits branded as Indian agents were gruesomely murdered which lead to our mass exodus, we were also forced into exile when humongous procession stretching several Kms raised a slogan, "Pandits you leave but leave your women to us", this very slogan sent shudders down the spine of every Kashmiri Pandit & at the spur of moment our women who were hell bent to safeguard their dignity hung themselves precariously out from the 4- 5th floor attic to commit suicide if they would enter the house, but para military forces & Army swung into the action & we were saved, but the incident had jolted us, we being a micro minority community decided to flee the valley leaving behind our property in preference to our life, dignity & incessant love for our country India. Today, Kashmiri Muslims talk of discrimination as the reason for their growing unrest, this kind of statement is completely misleading & false, if there ever was discrimination done it was done to Jammu which is a Hindu dominated area. This region was invariably ignored over Kashmir by Muslim rulers. Investment & development came to Jammu only after Kashmir turmoil & this was the region we took the refugee in. Yes I agree with you but not some more than 90% still think themselves as "Forced Indians" thanks to continued indoctrination done by the active anti Indian forces inside Kashmir & across the border were it was easy to go with the help of local police & administration deliberately kept under wraps for many many years before the inception of terror in valley. Hearsay cannot be an sound evidence. Can the claim of above gentleman be substantiated by any authentic report or research of any author? If not then there's no reason to believe what anyone says.
@TheWhiteTiger who is denying that unfair treatment was meted to kashmiri pandits? It is the responsibility of govt to ensure their safe return and provide required compensation. Intolerance committed by anyone should be dealt with sternly. But i don't agree with this logic that since they didn't return their awards that time, they shouldn't do it now. And how can you expect likes of dibankar banerjee, narayan murthy etc to protest against a tragedy that happened 25 years back?they were virtually no one that long back. Similarly we can say why this kind of protest was not during 2002 gujarat when same bjp govt ruled state as well as centre. I think one major difference this time is that protest is not directed against a particular incident but the general growing intolerance that is being spread all over country. Whether it was 1984,2002 or any other communal incident, that incident was restricted to a particular geographic locality. But now voice is being raised against systematic erosion of pluralism etc throughout the country. And finally a start has to be made at some point of time. Otherwise there will be no progress. Just because i did wrong in past, i can't be expected to repeat it. The problem is when anyone says 1984 , the other cries 2002. One says babri, other says kashmiri pandit. If we reduce the level of political discourse and debate to this level, such incidents will keep on happening.
Definitely intolerance is on rise.Some of the incidents like: 1.Murder of Prashant Poojary in Maharashtra 2.Murder of Hindu activist in Mangalore 3.Murder of RSS activists in Kerala. 4.A Hindu village was forbidden to celebrate Durga Puja.
These incidents make me wonder,where as a secular country, are we heading?If under real secular Modi govt. these incidents are happening,what will happen under pseudosecular ones?Maybe what happened in Pakistan/Bangladesh/Afghanistan/Kashmir/1947 will happen again.
Take,issue of beef ban for example;beef ban was such a sensitive subject that even Mughal rulers dared not to touch it.Gandhiji declared it as a matter more important than freedom itself. But is this India Gandhji dreamt off?Just because most of Middle and upper class has severed all its connection to rural roots,it dismisses cow slaughter issue as a trivial and communal issue. Perhaps,they are waiting for some cool PETA type organisation to take it up(just like Eulin/Gadhaimal festival)
It is high time Modi govt. take steps before Pak/Bangladesh model of Hindu treatment is emulated in Hindu minority areas in India too.
This is a serious concern than the manufactured outrage over events which are normal law&order problems. But then nobody gonna discuss these things because it doesn't suit their agenda.
