Why is tolerance and secularism a one way traffic in this country? I am tolerant and secular and I wish to remain one forever but I get frustrated when opposite group doesnt respect my views and sentiments, forget sentiments I atleast expect them to argue reasonably and rationally but all that comes from their mouth is the holy book. Eating beef is a matter of personal choice and I agree but why do muslims argue for beef eating because it is permitted in quran and not on the basis of a liberal rational argument? Recently J&K High court banned beef and muslims majority kashmir revolted saying that it is permitted in Islam so we wont oblige court's order. One lady separatist Asiya Andrabi even slaughtered a cow against this court order and uploaded a video on youtube. It's still there. You guys can check it out. Coming to the point, if instead they say that we want to eat beef because it is a matter of personal choice I would agree but they don't. They say because it is permitted in Islam. Tomorrow if one tries to open a pork shop in kashmir..same people will kill the guy or beat the crap out of him because it is not permitted in Islam.
The argument here is that ends dont justify means. All the supporters of beef eating aren't same. People from north east eat it because of their personal preference which is understandable and agreeable while muslims inject religion into it. Unless this stops Hindutva communalism shall remain there forever. Even Nehru said that RSS communalism was born because of League's communalism. Hindus have always been tolerant. We never heard of hindu communalism till late 19th century or early 20th century. But one gets frustrated when secularism tolerance and liberty is expected to be a one way traffic.
bhai this is all appeasement ! I don't like the RSS but this appeasement by the Conmen party in the last many decades has taken a toll on us . why shouldn't the plight of kashmiri pandits be discussed ? why is this word secularism not put to test in Kashmir ? Why no country of Muslim dominance a secular one ? what is the issue in having a uniform civil code ? i for one have equal faith in one of the name called Allah of one divinity but these are issues and they must be discussed like the rest !
sorry to intrude here : Indonesia and turkey are two examples of secular country with muslim majority, other examples are egypt and jordan. yes jordan despite being a monarchy, syria is secular despite dictatorial, Fatah of palestine is secular etc..
hahahaha i knew this was coming ) do you sometimes read foreign news papers or magazines ? okay just Google ! just imagine the state of affairs and urgency of introspection if out of 50/60+ Muslim majority nations you could write these 3-4 and that too Syria and Jordan ) ) don't prove me a point . it's all right if deep down inside you think i am wrong and you are right ! truth is stranger than the fiction my friend
i was saying about the type of secularism that existed before the current crisis in syria.. syria had separate courts for religious affairs... i am not going to debate on this...since you have already developed a stereotype it would be an act of folly to discuss secularism with you..
this is what i am saying . what is the reason for separate courts for religious purposes ? why can't we judge things on merit irrespective of what Geeta or Quran says ? why do we have to appease the fanatics ? and do you think i will buy your arguments as to how "secular" Syria , Jordan and Palestine is when every one knows that the whole blood bath originate due to different caste of Sia/Sunni and other man made stratification ? 50-60 nations of the world are Muslim dominated is a fact ! only 2-3 are secular and that too not in spirit is a fact ! Kashmiri Pandits were thrown out of their places is a fact ! and you call me stereotype ? i am not here for free brownie points . i have inherited the dare to go against the idiotics of Hinduism so I can very well go against other established faith as well . the fanatics and rituals have adulterated the divinity like anything . eating beef is choice but pork is not ! i had a muslim friend and she was married to a father of two with two wives . how is this justifiable ? polygamy is brutal , irrespective of who does it . why cant we see uniform civil code as a matter of justice and not as a matter of religion ? these IIT/IIM pass out earnings in 6 digits get selection in reserved quota . why should reservation be given a free pass and not put to test of reality ? this pseudo secularism and appeasement of idiots like Lalu , Mulayam , Thakrey and Owaishi has already done an irreparable damage to us . if we won't introspect , who will ?
India do not follow secularism.. it follows sickularism... Yesterday Liberals were busy sending soaps to zukerberg to wash his hand after shaking hand with PM...
Religion is synonymous with stupidity. It is no longer a symbol of unity. It is no longer a force for good. No matter what the apologists say, in an increasingly globalized world where the younger generation gets half-baked religious knowledge from the internet instead of reading proper scriptures, religion will hinder progress and divert the younger generation from what is really important. The very fact that youngsters all over the world are leaving their jobs, families and countries to join ISIS should itself raise alarm bells in all governments. I've been vehemently opposing religion since past 5-6 years but everyone says my view is one-sided and that I possess shallow understanding. It's their funeral. The earlier the youth shun religion, the better it bodes for our world.
I doubt the proper scriptures as well!! I ain't sure about them. Every fundamentalist seems to quote this or the other scripture!

It's all right to doubt an Scripture, there is nothing wrong in it but outrightly rejecting it and forcing your ideas on others is wrong... Having doubt is normal. Problem starts when ppl start to propagating false info to others on their half baked doubts... and this creats tension with those who are following those Scriptures. Imposition of ideas alway leads to clash of ego, and this breeds hatred..
Why don't the religious institutions release updated versions of their scriptures? just like normal books....
If they were normal books, they won't be known as book of the gods... Yes true with time things need to be updated but most of these books tend to teach is human value and morals...which has still not changed... honesty, truthfulness, compassion etc...still remain the central value of humans...and they will remain to do so..
Bjp will divide this nation ,rss will ruin the younger generation .now they can find a new lab test for beef in stool, digital indiaa ) :-q :-@
if you are preparing for cse( which i know you arent ) , then dont waste your time and do somethng productive . blaming and abusing digital india like every other mindless tard is least expected from a cse aspirant.
You better find some other job.other than preparing for case open a Sagha become a Sanghi or a monk
