  • @PoliticalBurrito apart from the names you suggested can you suggest a few more like for ethics?

From the research I did I too agree with the same cons that you suggested. Could you please suggest how one can begin preparing module wise?
for ethics generally u dont need any coaching, (i am assuming you are not in delhi right now.) Ethics is a random subject which requires overall approach. if u get chance visit ber sarai, orn etc where you will get all the printed and class notes, lukmaan ias for xmple has started case studies batch and notes are available at xerox shops :P

overall study of polity and related subject can solve much of the problems in ethics, any way you dont need any coaching to ans

"what is happiness according to you" :P

    best f luck :)

I'm sorry I can't help you with that. I'm not from Delhi and I personally believe no coaching or guidance is necessary for ethics. You can watch videos by Michael Sandel on Youtube. You can refer to notes by some coaching classes which are available at the photocopy shops of ORN and Mukherjee Nagar.
UPSC does not expect you to write the framed answers which are supplied to you by the coaching classes but they expect you to write about your personal views and opinions which is much needed for a future bureaucrat.
You can refer to the notes to get an idea about what ethics paper is all about but feed and leech on it. And as @abhishebiitb said 'What is happiness according to you?' You can't answer this question from what the coachingwalas or the notes say for happiness has a different definition for everyone. I hope this help you.
    All the best!

to give u the taste of reality, one of my batchmates, rahul, wrote mains last year, missed by few odd marks, wrote beautifully on what is happiness, quoating various philosophers and what not, he landed up gettting 40 marks in GS4, whereas people who wrote,

happiness for me is well balanced life, happy family, enough economic resources got 60 around, another friend of mine,

so GS4 is all about prespectives, overall approach to exam, your bureaucratic skills (to solve case studies)

    :)
