1. At 32, with nothing in hand and unmarried..joining politics is a further risk..I don't know if it provides monthly salary to take care of family?
2. What are sources which allow you to join it..as an outsider..with no links in politics?

If this is really the case then don't try anything unconventional right now. At all.
Immediately take a coaching job. They must be hiring in bulk after CSM result. Go for NET, SET in your optional subject. NET occurs twice every year. If you hv prepared ur optional well, it'll be a cakewalk. Apply for teaching jobs at regular pvt./govt. colleges/schools.
In a nutshell, stabilize your boat first.

First attempt at PSIR, and I haven't cleared.it was mostly self study and I guess that was the issue. Could you guys please advice me as to what classes are good-subhra ranjan ma'am or piyush chaubey sirs? Or any other faculty? Please help me out guys, I am totally confused on this decision.

If I concentrate on getting a job this year( no ignou and cse), won't it be difficult to regain the cse momentum again from next year? Or am I thinking in a wrong way? Thanks and regards :-)
No, a year off should not affect your preparedness in any way. And keep revising basic texts in meantime. Like for history, polity etc. Anyway you are going to need basic GS for State PCS, SSC and some PSU exams. So, you'll be in groove.
And if you are taking an off, include IGNOU in it. IGNOU's degrees are easy to take. Just submit assignments once a year and practice past years' papers for year-enders. And as you've said that Socio is ur optional, you'll nail it easily.

To all sad souls, Let me tell you my story. I hope it will console some or perhaps give them some strength. 2010- B.E. from private college with a job in TCS. 2010 - GATE qualified. 2010- got admission in an old IIT for M.Tech (CSE). 2012- got job in an e-commerce giant. 2014- got job in a product company in USA (USD 140,000). Man! a lot of money. But couldn't get H1B visa(It's lottery there too ) 2014- cracked an investment banking company(Money, Money, Money)
Even though I got success effortlessly, the satisfaction was missing. Joined Phd in an IIT hoping to become a prof. After a couple of months I came across few people who were preparing for Civil Services. There was a magnet in CSE, at least for me. I couldn't resist. It was love at first sight . I left PhD to prepare full time in 2015.
2015 - I gave an attempt with only 2 months of study, couldn't clear pre. 2016 - Cleared Pre. Was on a good track for mains. But just after Pre something bad happened to me. My father diagnosed with a terminal illness, Doctors said he can live at most 3 months. I was devastated, numb and didn't knew what to do. Doctors had no answers. I was running here and there to do something for my father. But I felt so weak, not able to do anything for him. Wrote mains without studying much. I was expecting to fail and the result was same. Out with geography.
When I left private job I was 25, earning 20+LPA. Now I am 27 and jobless. Losing my father. Does all these made me weak? No....
I am determined, I won't cry. Won't cry for geography as an optional, or for my situations. I will not change my goals and not even my optional. Only thing I will do is to improve myself. No matter what, I will win.
The beauty lies in the path more than in the destination. Tougher the path sweeter the destination. All these things making my goal even more cherish-able.
In my case..even I don't find analysis on buthered optionals worth ceibbing..beco not all fail in one optionals..ppl do get good marks too..but wen one is unable to find out what goes each time ..with one new are turning dark..one is forced to blame supernatural..which is working again you..
