I hope it is 33 and 7 attempts. A one off extra attempt in 2017 will not be very useful for those who exhausted their attempts earlier and have since moved on to other jobs as prelims is earlier this year. Need solid marks in Mains as I can see poor marks in interviews looking at how 30+ guys have fared last year (barring exceptions of course).
Anyway, I have followed Fuhrer for info on prelims result date so can say for sure that he is likely to be more correct than others.

Yup give complete and precise info with proof oderwise dnt judge ur poor performance on n off d charpai ..into ias interview pls!!
It seems less probable that you guys would get an extra attempt , if that would have been the case by now the dopt would have came out with a statement as they did when they scrapped csat before the notification only
