Typical of "the system." Doing the right think and risking the promotion vs keeping quiet and letting the political bosses feel like the sole "sarkar" for quick benefits.
  • Nothing different can be expected from or
written about the political class which has sunk
too its nadir particularly under certain
dispensations. But had all senior officers
collectively refused to carry out wrong orders
no such order could have been issued. If only
officers refused to place such a high premium
on proximity to power and shunned the
trappings of high office and post - retirement
sinecures, no one would be available to issue
wrong, illegitimate and partisan orders. And
only a bureaucrat is authorized to issue a
Government order - politicians cannot as they
are not authorized to do so. That is the rule of
law. If all officers refused to issue unlawful and
irregular orders, it would soon become futile for
    politicians to even try.
  • in india if u raise ur voice against prostituion, child labour, human trafficking, infanticide, dowry, illegal mining etc. u are branded a psycho, harassed, sometimes murdered...whch is wat happens wid many RTI/social activists/ IAS/IPS officers......cz ppl of ths country are busy celebrating festivals....praising movie stars....watching serials/movies...analyzing their success/failures...electing corrupt leaders.....it's surprising that nobody cares for India as a whole.....barring a few.....i guess still 70% of indians still dont even know who durga shakti is and hw great is her contribution to the country....and many such ppl....nt only officers...but simple ppl like u and me......and in the end we say Mera Bharat Mahan and sing our national anthem on 15th august....that is all that we contribute to our country

If one thread deserves a bump for no reason, it's this one. :)
  • the issue could have handled with mature. In the sense, the SDM definitely would have known that certain forces in the district would have been acting against her int the district/state.

She could have used camera recording while performing certain that concern the society. The current suspension is framed on demolition of mosque wall where the state government and report from DM contradict each other.

She is a brave officer but could have been much more mature in while working in a state like UP where all types of prejudices, differences are nurtured and expolited.
  • She is in such a bad position. She can't even resign and join any private company as they only prefer corrupt officers to get the work done. It is sad how morally twisted our whole system is. It is really difficult to be honest!
  • Hope she comes back with her "muh-tod" (knock-out) reply today.
  • Despite all the hoopla, suspension, shouting media, political interference and mafia-giri, IAS remains the top job in the country. After all, how many people get so famous at 28? I mean, she has a wikipedia profile on her!
