'Durga' IAS Suspended

  • Here I guess issue is not about who is suspending an IAS officer but how one should react (especially we newcomers) when faced with a threat of suspension or transfer so that a change in the system can be started (rather than go along with the already existing culture and become a part of it)
  • And that's why we need to make system of transfers and suspensions more transparent.
I have heard in Gujrath once an officer is posted he is not touched for 3 years from that district or position. Now this is something we need to make a central protocol. But discretionary powers at the hands of state government unless cut down will invariably meddle with the officers which are trying to do good work.
  • CM of UP gives lame excuse that she has been suspended for administrative reasons i.e demolishing a graveyard wall =))
I thought Yadav said that she was trying to demolish an illegal mosque. The SP heavily banks on the Muslim vote-bank and this he said could lead to communal tensions.

Either ways it is both saddening and silly.
  • On the same topic but a different tangent.

  • From what i had heard , SDM works under DM for initial years, then how come this action can solely be taken against SDM or what i have heard is wrong and IAS from starting of joining are independent entities. Further this is an unfortunate incidence and can happen some time with any of us as well but whats the way out. This is the situ with almost all govt. sectors. They want us to perform best and show results (which they can boast off as their achievements ) but w/o hampering their corruption. What question I m putting here is , if u get a good government type state like some one mentioned in above post abt gujrat, then u can easily work for results bt what course of action one should take if posted in states like UP. ?? share ur views friends
