@bodo dear I won't say delhi people are nuisance creator but in my view it depends on locality .. In south delhi people rarely do this and if do then that's also till 11 max even marriages coz people file complaint but in this Karol bagh area people are so fun loving that on any little occasion their speakers and mikes come out... U won't believe they do karaoke on mike and even tell cheap jokes on mike... In other parts of delhi this is rarely a problem ..literacy level has a lot to do with it
are you sure that those making noise over loudspeaker are illeterate??
I said literacy level... Only reading books doesn't make a person literate or educated nor does having a degree... What a person learns and apply is more important...
When i was staying @KB ,there were 2 marriage hall nearby and during wedding season endless speaker....we used to wait till 10:30 and immediately call up the cops, due to Mayor area the police promptly shuns them up.But,to the dismay they start playing flutes and shehnai....as if like "ab kya karogey..bansuri band krna kanoon mein ni h", Ultimately we brought the SNR 30DB sound reduction earplugs and ignored late night tablas and flutes.
Do earplugs work ? I have never used these
yeah sure they do ,if sound > 80DB mit reduces 30DB ,better ones reduce 50-60DB

what people learn and what they apply has no relation with their education level you can observe in this problemetic situation and by the way literacy has its defination but it has nothing to do with this problem.

...a literate person knows how to behave in society and if one doesn't know then that person is worst than illiterate... Anyways what I tried to say has nothing to do with what u inferred so better leave it... A literate person will never say nonveg jokes on mike... Why u going with the literal meaning when I m trying to say a thing in a broader sense...anyways leave... All d best gud bye
Got a school right front of the house in Safdarjung Enclave where it was preparing for annual function on 14th Dec. Could hear the sound of their rehearsals in my dreams. Call police more than 5 times and school management for more. Finally learnt to live with it. It was a psychological nightmare.

@Defcon1 i fully support you when you mention "Do not generalize whole damn city on the basis of one locality". one should not generalise on the basis of certain experiences. but kindly understand the fact that we all are biased in our opinion and these biases arise from the perceptions which in turn have been developed from the past experiences.
now coming back to why i disliked your comment. : you used "when you'll pay to live in a shitty place , you will get to experience shit. Period", imho this also shows a clear prejudiced mindset. you might be blessed enough to be in the good society/elite/well behaved ones. but for the rest of us we suffer from the nuisance of the literate class who act worse than the illiterate ones when it comes to the behavior in public places(not just loudspeakers, but also conduct in public places like hospitals, stations, bus stops etc..) it is not just restricted to poor class or lower middle class, these acts are very common throughout the country.
i can not agree with your statement of monetary classification of human behavior/conditions and sufferings.
