This thread is too seductive but I should refrain from commenting because I have deep and intense contempt for filthy , stinking burqa walis who are nothing but child popping machines. Also, circumcised dogs around the globe are littering their filthy ideology n killing innocent people in name of religion. Some psuedo intellectuals, closet communal, quasi terrorists are crying victimhood here. Ur crocodile tears will not change anything. I wonder why only islam is being questioned here. Nobody targeted any other religion. Why does islam n intolerance sound so synonymous? It's high time that all communities across the globe unite and civilize these barbarians.
@K9 At least 4 peole on this thread have called islam a barbarian cult and specifically drawn attention to the religious practice of circumcision. This is what I meant when I said to go have a look at the coments people post on popular newspaper websites if you want to gauge the true level of intolerance towards muslims. People like Chalu Aunty above are definitely part of a fringe, demented group, but it is a growing one.
Of course, our viewpoints are influenced from where we see. Mine is the view from within; your's without.

a pretty direct comment- u wont ever make it big in life.
@cito So 4 members on a forum and 50 toi comments become a basis for you to malign an entire group? On that basis you can conclude there are "millions of poisoned hindu minds"? There is a basic difference in our morality approach. I see every individual and life as innate and unique. I can criticize an individual and judge him on the basis of his actiona or on the basis of what he thinks. Hence I can never judge a "group" as bad. It is by definition diverse. This very diversity that you and @Lorlei cherish, you overlook it completely when you ignorantly brand BJP, VHP, RSS as communal and intolerant.
I don't mind any of you criticizing individual "communal" hatred spewing comments but then do so when everytime akbaruddin owaisi spews out utter asinine filth. Do so when a kashmiri pandit is killed and have the courage to call it islamic extremism instead of terrorism. Do so when violence is beyond our territory. Be it in Paris or in Bangladesh or USA. Don't wake up selectively only when some hindu zealots cause intolerance. Rise on every such occasion irrespective of the community - majority or minority, hindus or muslims. Be consistent in your reasoning.

USSR used propaganda to brainwash their people to believe communism was best. Similarly most of the Indians are brainwashed to believe that Islam is a peaceful religion and Muslims are nice people.
No Hindustani Muslim protested when Muslim rulers were killing, persecuting and raping non-Muslims for 1000 years. Ofc our history books talk about their architecture and cuisine. On other hand they exaggerate every misdeed of the Britishers. British Christians protected Non-Muslim Indian from the hands of Muslims. They tend to ignore the good side of British Raj.
Muslim rule had no pros, yet it was considered to be good for India.
@K9
I really don't like to use the 'right back at ya' style of argument, for then the debate falls into a circular track rendering it futile but I have to say this to you- you are doing the same thing you are accusing me of you are selectively standing up for and selectively berating people based on your predilections.
You pounce at me calling me a pseudo intellectual and what not when I merely use the word Sanghi but not a peep out of you when someone uses such abusive and obscene language against an entire religion.
How come?
And seriously, how can you even equate civilised criticism and blatant bigotry? Don't you see how dangerous the latter is?
I'll have you know, the day someone supports jehad or islamic terrorism on this forum I shall speak out against them and I'll also have you know, when someone abuses hindus like the way muslims are being abused here i'll speak out, once again. So don't go on assuming things about me.
@Lorelei that was for cito. I quoted you only for branding the groups as communal.
Nevertheless, I didn't think it was worth it to reply to views endorsed by Chalu Aunty and Johnphillip. I, with all my heart and blood, condemn them. There. I have no qualms as being an agnostic I have no religious affiliation that will make me inherently biased and so I can look at all of them rationally. I wrote in one of my previous comments, my best friend is a muslim. So in no way are they at fault. But that won't make me stop from lampooning those who spread terror in the name of islam. I won't shy away from linking terrorism to Islam merely because, those individuals who execute calling "allahu akbar" believe they are doing it for their religion. It is their wrong perceptual link to islam that I will question everytime instead of rhetoric statements like "it is all terrorism". Similarly, if there are hindu extremist elements, I will criticize them with equal fervour. You can be sure of that too.

Criticze Hindu fundamentalists - Not Hinduism as a whole
Fair enough
So, similarly,
Criticize terrorists - Not all Muslims
As simple as that!
The crux of all your posts is, do not generalize people belonging to a particular religion because of some fundamentalists. I fail to understand, why dnt you apply the same the other way round? If you do that, actually, you will also find yourself somewhere at the middle where the so called pseudo intellectuals are
