@antonov: Bhai maine kuch senior players and other experienced logo se is baare mein baat kari hai. To unhone mujhe kaha hai ki GENERALLY interview board members is baare mein kuch bhi question nahi poochte hain ki aapne kaunsa Cadre first priority par rakha aur kaunsa nahi. Unko in sabse koi lena dena nahi hota. Interview Board Members agar koi question poochte bhi hain to wo candidate ki Service Priority par hi zyadatar questions hote hain.
Koi hai yaha jo IPS ko First Preference dene wala hai ? Anyone ? and that too in Maharashtra or Gujrat Cadre ....

Bhai actually IPS mera first preference nahi hai lekin IPS me Maharashtra first preference dene ki soch raha hu. Par Gujrat ke baare me maine soch nahi hai.

i want to give IFS as first preference, but worried about my family , as i am the only son I heard that 5 years abroad and 3 years Delhi is the rotation, but in emergency situation is there any options for prolonged stay in India ?or how to manage then ?

You can always take your parents along with you. No, its 2 or 3 years abroad, then 2 years in mea. Also, if you want you can avoid foreign postings and stay for in india for prolonged period. Many of them have done that.
but how selection of country is decided for posting? do rank play a greater role in deciding postings?
Rank plays a role in getting you the language specialization of your choice. The language specialization dictates which region you will be posted in for your first 2-3 postings abroad.
which are the group of countries where first posting would be given generally? any idea on this?
5 languages are available every year. French- France, Belgium Chinese- China, Hong Kong, Singapore Russian- Russia Spanish- Spain, Mexico, Argentina etc Arabic- usually give Egypt or Jordan or UAE to newbies In addition some languages are usually available every year German, pourtuguese, Japanese type And some languages are rarer, like Turkish, bhasa Indonesia, Persian, Korean etc. In truth, many languages are available. 2 yrs ago, 16 were available. The competition is only top choices like French & Chinese. Other than that, you mostly get what you want.
pls tell me why chinese embassy is on top priority on same level as french......jst wanted to know....
as per my interest i love travelling...so don't have any problem to go anywhere unless there is security risk....
Because China is the emerging superpower. Tmrw the imp that is given to Obama will also be given to China's prez. Someone who knows Chinese will always be at advantage.
