  • हमको तो जो भी दोस्त मिले, बेवफा मिले.......
    I'll be loyal.
  • A new dilemma in life. :|

To believe in God or not B)
There can be a religionless God too. Don't you agree? B)
There can be a godless religion, but not a religionless god, as far as I see it.

Unless, of course, you define religion the way William James did -- "the feelings, acts, and experiences of individual men in their solitude, so far as they apprehend themselves to stand in relation to whatever they may consider the divine."
  • The problem with religion, atleast of the Abrahamic ones, is that many get pissed off at even a slight joke made at the expense of those whom they consider sacred. It saps the ability of people to laugh at jokes directed towards them -- a sine qua non for a fine character, I would say.

Look at this old priest, as an example.

  • A religion which is hierarchical, that is, there is some god or prophet which sits at the top like a dictator and whose teachings (let's for a moment believe that He really did exist) are sacred, immune to any adaptation with the passing time, is bound to land in conflicts and disasters. In this regard, Hinduism (and Buddhism and Jainism) is far ahead, as there is no one god, no sacred scripture, no compulsory rituals.
  • People take offense however open-minded they claim to be. Something or the other is going to trigger them. Some retaliate openly, others do it sarcastically or by demeaning the one who, they feel 'mocked' at them.
Jokes work when the parties involved have built a rapport with one another. Or in other words, they share a level of comfort. :)

Yeah, that's true. But the question is when are you going to take offense? At least, not at the innocuous jokes. Also, when I take offense at something said and someone else who is in the same situation doesn't, all I do is admire that person, and I see myself in fault. For me, the suave and wiity guys who rarely take offense are a benchmark.
  • Read life of pie. And understand it. Faith is not as irrational or illogical , what many think. :)

I admire people who are not territorial. Haha :p
