Despite being a critic of Modi myself, I would like to appreciate the great service he has done to millions of honest aspirants by doing away with interviews in Group C and D recruitments. Some (similar) reforms are needed for A and B recruitment process too.

i have prepared a detailed proposal to send to the govt on why interview marks in upsc should be made qualifying .will send it very soon.
I agree that interview should be qualifying. How does a candidate with interview marks 198 better than the one who scored say, 170, just because he is able to answer 1-2 questions additionally ...
few reforms which are needed- 1.interview should be qualifying 2.prelims marks and cut off should be released with prelims result so that student can diagnose his weakness. 3.there should be chance for re-evaluation in mains-nothing is foolproof,not even computers. 4.process can be completed within 6 months,saving critical period of ones prep phase as well as helping working professionals. 5.video recording of interview should be done.

He had 135 marks in personality test in 2012 but 204 in 2013.

Last year and the year before too some people discussed it here and did it. I myself emailed Baswan regarding this (despite not having qualified for a single UPSC interview myself; but unfair is unfair). Nothing happened. But no harm in trying again (what else can we do?). Just don't keep any high hopes, buddy.
