Hi friends, with such less time left, I think we can discuss - What was ur strategy previously? Why did u think u failed?(Please dont say luck) What changes you are planning to bring?
Finishing the syllabus and 4~5 revisions added to it vastly improves chances of success in mains. With more attempts and frustration setting in, rate of fresh coverage declines while already covered topics start fading away. In the new pattern where quick retention of points is essential for maximizing attempts in a paper, this factor of letting things slip away is perhaps the most damaging to the aspirant. So one must keep in touch with the old topics and not reduce the tempo of study in all attempts. I don't agree that mere failure in one attempt requires an overhaul of entire preparation strategy. Some small course correction, like improving one's speed of writing, incorporating brevity and succinctness in one's answers may be all that is required. And above all, patience and belief are also vital for this exam.
Strategy is: 1. Analyze your scores in the past two attempts. This year scores out by July mid. 2. Concentrate on optionals and paper 2. Then paper 1 and finally paper 3 3. Write write and write. 4. Think of alternate career option if the analysis in point 1 reflects huge gap despite best attempt in 2014.
