Christian minority school in kerala had to ban pork after muslims protested. Seculars kept quiet.

Muslims refuse to sing vande mataram. But its all ok.

Muslims oppose Uniform Civil code and family planning. No one cares.

BEEF gets banned secularlism khatre mein.

Its funny how in India people whose religion doesnot believe in secularlism preach most about secularlism

Heil Sheikh Mohandas Gandhi and Moulana Nehru!!

God bless this great hypocrite nation where peaceful majority which has suffered a great under violent minority rule for about 1000 years is being labelled as intolerant.

Special thanks to Marxist and Congressi historians for whitewashing history.
Dost aap lagta hai un historian se jyada jaante hain.behtar hoga ki ab aap hi sachai se parda uthane ke liye history pe book likh dalen.
aur in samasyaon ka samadhan batayen.

apj kalam sahab aap ko kaise lagte hain? yah bhi batane ka kasht karen.
  • Saddest thing about the history of the world is this trend of the living to fight battles of the dead and to ruin their lives in the process.

    @Winchesters

    1. I am aware of what the DPSP talk about. Never said otherwise. What I am saying is that DPSPs allow the State to ban slaughter and hence a ban can be justified in that regard. The State only has to show the court that differentiating between the variety of animals mentioned therein and what aren't is not practical and hence a blanket ban essential. Fundamental Rights issue is immaterial because the court has said time and again that no FR is violated. It is highly uncertain that consumption patterns can find a mention under the Right to Life. You will probably see the Bombay HC give the same view later in June.

    2. You probably haven't lived in a rural area? Just like a horse is a rural companion in USA, so is a cow and buffalo a rural companion in India. This is not an apple v oranges situation. In fact the cow goes a tad further and achieves the status of reverence in the society.

It is human tendency to place some intelligent animals at a place higher. So societies have time and again chosen certain specific animals and prohibited their slaughter. USA does it with the horse, India does it with cattle. I hope you are aware that ANY animal which is not reared for human consumption and which is not kept exclusively as a pet is given some or the other medication. Please read up about Bovine Growth Hormone and its harmful effects.

Needless to say one can make an argument of starting consumption farms where animals are reared specially for consumption and no harmful medication is given to them. But that still wouldn't justify the lifting on Horse meat in many American states, would it?

On top of that beef is one of the most environmentally degrading food product. (http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/jul/21/giving-up-beef-reduce-carbon-footprint-more-than-cars)

    3. Beef is a cheap food in India solely because most slaughtered cattle are either stolen or procured illegally.

"A back-of-the-envelope calculation suggests that if governance in India provides a) the basic function of law and order that prevents bovine animal theft and b) establishes smaller satellite units where old cows and buffaloes could be retained till they died a natural death, the wholesale cost of beef or buffalo meat would cross Rs 800 a kilogram with bone and without cleaning. This in turn would price beef at over Rs 1,500 a kilo on the table."

I am sure the poor won't and can't afford 1,500Rs meat products. So there goes the theory which tries to paint beef as food of the poor.
  • Beef na khane se malnutrition ho jata hai kya ??
  • Beef na khane se malnutrition ho jata hai kya ??
kal ko garam masala ban kar doge kya, ye kehkar ki usko na khane se bhi kuchh nhi hota.
  • beef industry ke khatam hone se dairy industry bhi affect hogi..no farmer will raise an animal which does not have a secondary value..farmer animal ko asset maanta hai na ki "friend" ..indian express me article aaya tha kuch din pahle..jin states me cow meat ban tha wahan total cattle population me cow ka proportion ghat gaya...kyunki koi farer cow ko raise nahi karta because of its low resale value..this along with the fact that cow milk has less fat...balki baaki states jahan cow meat is subjected to same restriction as buffalo meat , cows ka proportion high hai...America me bhi boht abdi beef industry hai but iska matlab ye nahi ki cattle khatam ho gayi..and cow meat is ban in most places..baat other cattle meat ki hai jo sarkar ne ban kar diya...sanghi ppl are are giving it a spin that they are doing for environment, DPSP... =)) lekin iska sirf ek hi reason hai..to satisfy their bosses in nagpur
  • @Winchesters Comparing sanghis to jihadis. Next you will say RSS is as bad as ISIS.

    Everyone knows how tolerant Muslims.
Pregnant auraton ke pet kaatna (Gujarat me) aur americans ki Gardane kaatna (Iraq me). Similarity dikhi.........aur bhi laakhon hai par bhai tu manega nahi, isliye koi faayde nahi tujhse argue karne ka. Sanghis don't behave like jihadis in daylight because of 'rule of law' still working to whatever extent........during Riots law and order is over, so jihadi tendency of Sanghis takes over.

    Signing out.
I challenge you to provide any roof/link/document/evidence/image of "Pregnant auraton ke pet kaatna (Gujarat me)". Dont spread rumors. Ignorance is bliss i guess.

The decision is against our secular principals .
I don't think banning cow or buffalo slaughter can be termed as violation of our secular principles. Beef consumption is not an integral part of any organized religion and has been said so by the Supreme Court as well. Further, it gives effect to a DPSP. Also, if you look at other civilized societies, consumption of meat of many non-vulnerable species is prohibited by law. Horse meat is prohibited in the USA, for example. This despite the fact that horse is not a threatened species. Even if a beef ban were to be challenged, there is a 99% chance that it will be upheld by the court.

You can call the ban stupid if you wish to, but to call it illegal or violating of our secular principles is too far a stretch.
Banning slaughter of revered animals (of one religion) may not directly violate secular things as provided in the constitution, but it has religious implications in the long run i think. What if some states like J&K rule that no one be allowed to consumed fork there, cause it doesnt suit customs of Islam? wont you oppose this, as a hindu or member of any other religion who likes to eat fork? not this ban made with religious fervor? state discriminating other religion instead of treating on equal footing? :) @sniper
  • To all RSS haters:

Indian Prime minister is a RSS Swayamsevak.
Indian Home Minister is a RSS Swayamsevak.
Indian Defence Minister is a RSS Swayamsevak.

And i think the country is in safe hands.

PS: Its fashionable to abuse RSS in order to declare yourself secular intellectual.
