DR.docrock ,MBBS AGE -27 YEARS JOB EXP. -2.5 YEARS IN PROVINCIALMEDICAL AND HEALTH SERVICES UTTAR PRADESH. BOARD--MR.VINAY MITTAL ××MAY, AN SESSION I was called at 5P.M. and I was the second last All members were in hurry and as I reached they asked me to sit down, I wished all and took my seat. Their battery was already down ( 5 p.m.) CM: Ohk dr.×××××× ME: yes sir ××××. CM: So u r a doctor ,a medical officer,govt.spent a lot on you ,drs. Are very less, our country needs doctors and u want to join civil services??? (bouncer on first ball, I somehow controlled my self) Me:sir, I always wanted to join civil services but my father who is also a doctor asked me to do mbbs .after doing mbbs I decided not to do PG and joined as a medical officer bcoz medical services is also a civil service but at a small level. I want to work at a broader level which is provided byservices under this exam. So with job I started preparing for upsc cse. Cm: what a civil servant can do??after 2 years as a d.m. u will be in secretariat..what they do there?? Me: sir they have role in policy making there and….(stopped by him) Cm:but policies are decided by govt. bureacreats are of no use Me: sir, but the brain behind policies is of bureaucrat.they assist govt. everywhere. Cm: yes brain is there but uuuhhuu. Cm:u r working as medical officer, what problems do u face at ur PHC. Me:sir, the basic things which lacks in village like electricity and water. E.g. My lab asstt. Find it hard to do microscopy bcoz of absence of electricity and diagnosis is not made properly . There is also lack of awareness about their health , e.g.sometimes despite of counselling people avoid some tests for TB bcoz of lack of awareness. Cm:what is status of staff?? Me:sir, paramedical staff is sufficient but doctors are less . Cm:what about medicines?? Me:sir medicines are available for common ailments but not for specific health problems. NRHM since its inception helped a lot that’s why govt.came up with NHM. Cm:how conditions improved with NRHM, Me:sir, indicators improved a lot since 2005, e.g.IMR is 42 nd MMR is 178 bcoz of some good schemes under nrhm Cm:what schemes?? Me:sir, schemes like janani suraksha yojana and janani shishu suraksha karyakaram, in which ASHA played a very big role. Cm:being a medical officer u did anything special?? Me:sir, when I joined the phc malaria cases were on rise, I visit the nearby village and I observed that there is a pond near to habitation, I with the help of my cmo and acmo poured larvicides in pond and fogging was done in villages, suddenly cases of malaria dropped . Cm:there is a fish also used as larvicide?? Me:it is gambusia fish. Cm:u can use that also Me:yes sir but I used chemicals as gambusia ‘s efficacy is not known in that area. Cm: ok ,but chemical can make water poisonous Me:yes sir ,but that pond is dirty and sewers water is there . Cm: ohk, what else u can do ?? Me:raising awareness by going to schools and teaching children about malaria ,mosquito using AV aids ,flip charts etc. and with the help of panchayat and pradhan awareness campaign in general population can be done. Sir, even simple kerosene is potent larvicidal and is available in village . Cm asked M1 to butcher me :P …DR.SAHAB U CAN ASK NOW… I was shocked on hearing daaktar sahib . M1:How malaria occurs ?? Me:explained about plasmodium and vector anopheles.. M1:male r female Me:female anopheles M1: how fever comes?? Me:explained asexual cycle of plasmodium in simple language M1:what type of plasmodium is common in ur area?? Me:sir, it P.falciparum M1:name a big complication of falciparum Me :sir ,it is cerebral malaria M1: what happens in this?? Me:explained M1:malaria states in india Me:I used logic and said up east,bihar,w.b., assam, Andhra M1:chattisgarh also. Me :ok sir thanku M1:which disease is common in up east , Me:Japanese encephalitis M1:what happens?? Me:sir it is also a vector borne disease caused by mosquito bites M1:symptoms Me:reacalled few and answered M1: u r a dm, what u will do to control malaria if u r deployed in kumbh as mela officer?? Me: prophylactic dose , ditches to be cleaned,fogging etc. He added something else in his Qn. But I didn’t got him properly .he made face as if I disturbed his sleep. Then he slept :P M2:difference bw allopathy homeopathy Me :explained about origin and drugs . M2:allopathic drugs are problematic?? Me : sir almost all allopathic drugs have side effects but patient wants quick which is provided by these drugs. Homeopathy takes time to show its effect. M2:difference bw ayurveda and yunani Me:explained about origin M2: treatment difference batao Me:sir herbs are used in ayurveda but I don’t know the exact difference in treatment. M2: in which city drug factories are located Me:I said in kasauli many factories are there. M2:very big city .not kasauli Me:sorry sir im unable to recall. Now member 3 is lady who woke up M3:what is ur first priority as d.m. Me: mam health M3:apart from health, what first thing u will do as a d.m.?? Me:I will call the meetings of all deptt. And others groups (ngos etc.) and try to understand the problems of my distt. M3:ohh that is pre requisite ,list ur priorities Me:mam apart from health , development of villages is my first priority, then education ….. M3:what about jobs, what u will do to create employment ?govt running many schemes, what apart from schemes?? Me: I will increase scope of vocational education ..and then employment… (she grilled me a lot ) M3: but it will take time people want quick employment. Me:then I will try to fill vacant contractual posts in various deptt. M3: permanent batao. Me: (I was shattered) mam I will introduce innovative things in agriculture which employs max. no. of people in india. M3:what about household?? Me:yes mam , I will look after that also, as handicrafts needs markrting I will work in that regard.. (she was not very happy ) M3:ok connect vocational training and household ?? Me: maam , people undergoing training can be trained in household for real time exposure … M3:hmmmmm.ok sir u can ask (m1 ,m2 are sleeping ) M4 : ur optional is zoology Me :yes sir M4:ok tell me about mitochondrial genetics .. Me : I started but on a wrong track , M4:he interrupted me and said , ok ok v r not here for zoology, v r here something else. (I recollected myself after collapsing to mams googlys ) M4: asked about polio certification Me:explained M4:should we stop polio immunisation now Me:no sir this is high time v have to be more active M4:in which countries polio is still present ?? Me:pak,afg,Nigeria and some other African countries where cases re emerged even after certification. M4:why v should continue?? Me:sir virus can come from neighbouring countries . M4: only this reason, what is the route ??and tell other reason too. Me: feco oral route .and sir some areas like west up are very sensitive as climate is suitable for polio virus and proper drainage system is not there.so polio virus can re emerge. M4: u r from UP. How will u manage communal problems??and in which distt there were riots?? Me: in muzaffarnagar . identification of sensitive areas and deploying more police in those areas. Formation of peace committees Making a database of people having arms licence. Strong intelligence Hate msgs from internet and sms to be controlled. M4:name the city where sms became a problem against some students, Me:yes sir, it is Bangalore and msgs were against students of north east and migrated back bcoz of fear. M4:what govt.did?? Me: sir, govt. talked with state govt. of north east and removed fear and asked students to resume their studies. M4:what about sms?? Me:sir bulk msgs were stopped and limit was set on no. of msgs .. M4:ok Cm: ok thnku u can leave Me :thnku sir and left..nothing was asked from biodata, bad interview for me
