If someone can help me too in finalising the sources for CP.. totally confused between IGNOU and other books including this Johari book.. even IGNOU comes with two huge books with so many chapters and may b its just me who finds all those chapters talking same things.. m totally lost here..
Also, for Paper 1 Sec A, if one has read O P Gauba properly, then which other books are advisable ?

read op gauba completely 3-4 times and it is a good book for paper 1,this book could be complemented by Eddie arshidwadam pol theory or rajiv bhargava pol theory as certain concept like affarmative action and multiculturalism is not given in op gauba. as for cp only very limited of topics has to be done.it is Better to refer to subhra notes for cp.johri book is written as per du syllabus.
Please also express ur views on the multiple heywood books tht we have, if u hv read them. Are they important or cost:benefit ratio is pretty adverse aftr reading Gauba. And if they are imp, pls suggest their chapters too like u mentioned above abt affirmatve actn and multiculturalism. thanks.

I appeared in this year's mains with psir optional.this is also my grad subject so I can tell for sure that op gauba is the best book on market for theory.I both Heywood books read global politics thoroughly.gp along with baylis Smith are imp for ir part.certain competitive politics topics like social movements can also be found in global politics by Heywood. if you have read guaba then there is no need to purchase politics by Heywood.just purchase global politics by Heywood also known as the red book
Some part of the syllabus are not there in J C Johari I think. Like nothing related to social movements etc. A lot of chapters are not related to syllabus. I have it and I want to read it but so confused what to go through in it.

's Ted rlp that book is based on du pol science syllabus.I read that book during college days. civil comparitive syllabus is different only thing you are going to find in that book is approaches.rest is comparison of polities of different countries not relevant from csm perspective.social movements is given in global politics by Heywood global civil society chapter to be precise.use shubra notes for other topics like state,pressure groups etc.
