Two Archaeological Survey:-
(1)Excavation at Bargaon ,District Saharanpur, 1963-64 :-
Excavation revealed a 1 m thick occupational deposit yielding the Harappan ware along with the unslipped Ochre-coloured Ware. The principal shapes includes : the dish-on-stand; bowl with featureless rim; lid with central knob; Indus goblet; ring-stand; miniature pedestalled cup; long-necked globular flask ; and vase with chord-impressed design and incised bands on the exterior. Some of the pottery was also painted , the designs being confined to cross-hatched triangles set within horizontal bands and wavy lines in the upper levels , and only horizontal bands in the lower ones.
(2) Excavation at Village Chandayan in Baraut tehsil of Baghpat district( a district nearby Saharanpur ) , 2014-15 :-
Excavation conducted by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) at the late-Harappan site of Chandayan in Uttar Pradesh has, for the first time, revealed the plan of a house on the GangaYamuna doab, with its mud walls, four successive floor levels and post-holes.While these were found in the habitation area, trenches laid in the burial area brought to light 21
Harappan pots, the remains of a skeleton, a broken copper crown placed on the skull, animal bones and remains of a feast, indicating a funeral
ceremony.
