I gave mains 2012 with geography optional(Scored 230). Last time I did only standard books. This time planning to read Delhi coaching materials as well. Whose materials are the best? (I'm going to buy one or two ) Shabbir sir or Alok Ranjan sir or Neetu mam or Jojo sir (I'm not sure about the list. But this is what my Delhi friend told me)
Hi @sanket002 , As you have suggest Alok Ranjan sir for GS Geography module. I enquired, the fee is 29,000 /- and economic geography (as well as some eco topics from GS paper III) are free with Geography portion from paper - I. Also they told that some other teacher also takes some classes in this course, (i) please suggest is that other teacher also good. (ii) Could you please suggest is it worth it and (iii) are there answer writing practice sessions (daily or weekly) for GS geog module too. Also @ Neetu's fee is listed 6,000 /- for only geog (GS paper - I) portion. (iv)Please suggest would it suffice to get the hand-written notes of Mr Alok Ranjan for Geog and will it suffice for map-related stuff too. (v) does Economic geog also need classroom coaching and (vi) while covering world geography is it covered like - for example, say country - canada, then industries etc are dictated and after class the notes seem like the chapters in world geog book written by majid hussain or the comparative and map analysis is made by Alok sir (for multiple countries at once) on white-board so that the dictated material on notes is lesser but much more was understood. A big thanks in advance, for answering multiple queries :-)
Hey istart, do you know the timings for Alok Ranjan and when he's starting the course. fee must be 19,900 and not 29,000. Unable to call him up. do you have their number?
Hi @rahul_shm0901 It is actually 28,900 /- (for GS - geo pre + mains), that is why i am concerned as it is too much, that 19,900 you are saying is GS - geo Mains only, please tell what you got on calling
I have joined for optional so I don't have exact idea how he is dealing with GS module. If you think that fees is too much, then don't join. Getting Hand written notes can also do the job.
world geography will be covered region wise and not country wise.
The other teacher, if you mean the guy who will be taking ecology (2-3 lectures) , is not that good. He took a small portion in our optional class and many guys preferred to skip it !
@sanket002 Thanks friend I understand :-) as i just started so not having that much good writing practice for content organization. :-) Your reply helped a lot. could you please suggest that would their material be sufficient for map related stuff also and after getting through sir's classes do you think that economic geography also needs classroom coaching
