I am from the only place in north india where tea plantation is done. Incidently my grandfather had tea garden- tea shrubs still there, no cultivation now. No. Of reasons why it is not successful after British. Just opposite of why its successful in Assam. Plus different flavor not liked by Indians. And it ruined after 1905 earthquake. Never revived. Small area for best growth. So not commercially viable without govt. support.

Main reason was distance from port ( for export ), lack of cheap labour and in many of these areas britishers were not ruling. Himachal, Nepaland Jand K had local rulers.

Distance from port is one reason but they had built railways way back in 1920s. Also tea growing part of himachal was in British Punjab state. So fully controlled by them. Others I have no idea.
  • did 21 questions out of 25,
Done 24 questions, left the feminization of agriculture wala question. What can be written on it?
  • Men migrating , lack of other employments options, women preferred for delicate work, cultural change due to economic prob...etc
  • To be honest I found culture and geography questions extremely tough ( clueless in some questions). Though I am not writing mains.
Geography ques were of optional paper standard for sure.... now i am worried about Geography optional question papers on friday ! :'(
