  • Paper 1 seems to be a brain tickler! Quite analytical and probably requires a great sense of awareness.
Gave me jitters even though im not a mains player this time.

Though this question is a cakewalk if one has sociology optional or has attended Mahapatra sir's class or has seen Mahapatra sir's video on youtube on religion

Can Geo questins be managed by NCERT reading?

beyond NCERT range as i can percieve
  • World limit reduced
    150 words !!! Only .
Higley difficult to manage when someone is full of knowledge
  • @lordirwin
I would say not only reading NCERTs but going beyond it.But NCERT helps in building base. Will help with you an example:-
Spatial Pattern Change of Iron and Steel- Old NCERTs will tell you how productive was zone of Rhine valley in Germany and manchester in United Kingdom in past. Now you can say China is biggest Iron and steel producing nation with India and Australia picking up.
Tea Question - Old Ncert mentions that conditions were more favorable in Assam and Darjeeling plus people were available from nearby states ( m not getting tribe's name) which helped British in tea plantation.
Plus nearness of Hooghly port helped Britishers export tea to different part of world
Tropical Cyclones - In Old Ncert, it is mentioned that near this latitude due to year long heating and low pressure areas developed in adjoining continents.
Islands - I agree it is not straight but continental drift theory can be used, however m not sure that would be right answer.
Fold mountains - Easy question. Plate tectonics theory.
Shrinking Himalayan Glaciers - I agree its pure and pure current affairs questions. But try to first understand from Old Ncert. Himalayas act as natural barrier to cold wind from central plateau in north, Source of water to Ganga-yamuna river system, Dams etc.
I am not denying the role of newspapers but infact if you look question paper closely, most of them will relate to something in past where your Old ncerts would help.
