Lateral entry of talent into top administrative posts can only be a good idea. It's something that developed nations have been doing for quite a while. I am extremely optimistic about this particular reform.

Inefficient bureaucrats now have to face early retirement. This is the long-overdue flip side of this - efficient non-bureaucrats getting late appointments into the bureaucracy.

Again, if bureaucrats are to be sourced from the private sector, the pay and perks must be rationalised. Massive disparities in government and private salaries should come down. For administrators, that could mean a boost in salaries and possibly monetisation of perks. This should also attract better talent into the bureaucracy, strengthening the iron frame.

Efficiency in administration should go up. That should boost growth and development.

    Brilliant step. :)
  • Beautiful step.Wonderful.Now the eficiency will take over the uneficient bureaucrats.
Now the incentive feature will be the motivating factor to work more.No seniority principle should be applied.

There is a flipside too.The policy of appointment of non bureaucrats will be formed by bureaucrats. So, there is always chance of favouritism.,

    Welcome step.!
  • Welcome to the new world.

  • Two more attempts with consequential age relaxation should be given for adjusting to this change .
