  • I also want to know about GS-1 papers of CL test series.
  • As I said, I saw CL, which was better than Vajiram. But I personally found BYJU better. A few of the questions actually came in Prelims from his mock sessions.

You mean for paper-2, you found some questions in Prelims?
You found GS-1 of both comparable?
  • Gs yes I found some questions, like rare earth one, diclofenac . Tough i will add that they were very common questions, covered well in Frontline many times s well as in Hindu. Of course, we will need to develop the knack for identifying questions from the voluminous newsprint.
  • for CSAT, i would say their english teacher is awesome.u just need 1-2 classes and u will be fine forever in english.
  • sorry for the late reply, though
  • @neyawn Did you join byju coaching or just attented their demo sessions? I have attented all their demo sessions and found them to be useful. English 1st RC session was good. Hopefully, they will be doing a few more. I am pretty sure i will join their 8 GS & 8 CSAT test series. Do they discuss the mock tests comprehensively and explain concepts to solve them? I was also wondering if you enrolled for the 250 online tests? I have no access to laptop so i won‘t get a chance to do those, but if they are important and questions came from those then i will have to get a laptop too. Are you joining their test series again?
  • I knew Baiju since college days. I would say that 250 online tests would be too many tests. Thats not really needed. I think you're on the right track right now. Remember, you must write something like 10 GS tests and 10 CSAT tests in an institutional environment, not more than that.

Apart from that, you must write at least 2-3 tests every week at home. Have at least one friend with whom you compete. Both of you write the tests at your home and discuss how much each scored at the end.

Thirdly, when you spend 2 hours writing a test, spend at least 2 hours analysing what weak areas you have. Study it for 2 days and write another full test again.

The 8 mock GS and CSAT tests should be enough.
  • I have done enough practising for Prelims, having cleared it both the times. I don't intend to start preparing for Pre right now, but only in Feb March. But for a beginner, one must begin it by dec 15.

The thing is that after 2 months of studying, you finally get to know what to read and what NOT to read. That, only experience can teach you. After the first two months, when you know the game, you will find that whole Prelims syllabus can be done in 20-40 days easily, depending on individual capacity.

Of course you shoudl keep accumulating knowledge all throughout at least for a year before you write it.
