  • at IFS aspirants ,here my take:
    1) one will get 2 free to and fro tickets to home in 3 years. First one will go alone and stay for 4-5 months and adjust with the situation. Then return back home and bring your family and with them spend the rest 3-4 years abroad. If they get bored ,one can take them back home with your another free ticket.
    2) Its better not to look for plum postings at first, in US,UK, Germany, france,etc...since that would be reserved for people having long connections. One can chose other countries where decent standard of living is there and are not much on the radar of people having connections. For eg. Australia, China, Singapore, Ireland,UAE, Turkey etc.
3)If one wants to stay longer abroad, its better to take language like arabic, chinese (either cantonese or mandarin) , japanese....etc...since it takes longer time for training

    4) pehle mains to clear karo. :))
Why dont they ask cadre/country for ifs too in daf...?? :-?

Divide the CTC by 12. That is what I did this year and last year as they have asked for total remuneration and not net remuneration.

Ha ha. Nice idea. But I think it is assigned later based on performance during training. Officers are allotted to various divisions in MEA (West, Asia-Pacific, Africa etc) according to these performance scores. Not very sure but had heard somewhere regd this.
  • Should we fill those exams of UPSC which we applied but could not pass? Are you people doing it? It will create a wrong impression in board's mind.

    @Neanderthal @aamengineer plz reply.
We need to fill everything. And the board will only have the summary sheet not the entire DAF. So unless they specifically ask you regd the number of attempts we have taken etc, I think they are not aware of our past unsuccessful endeavors.
  • Fellas one more query..
    In TEAM/GAMES/NCC/HITCHHIKING/MOUNTAINEERING
Can I write High Altitude treks I have done..they are to two glaciers…did this in college time..But I do not have any certificate for this
They will not ask you for any certificates for the hobbies/extra curricular activities etc. If you want to mention them, you can go ahead.
  • All,

Do we need to send the semester marksheets (of Engg/ MBA) also...... Or only the degree is sufficient??
    Thanks
  • My final state preferences list.
@all, @Neanderthal @ArindamSarkar @sananthan pls comment if there are any discrepancies. Except first 6 I am ready to change anything.

I think Sikkim (though small) is much better, safer and peaceful than Nagaland ! You can rethink ..
