One of my friend has a state services interview coming up. But he happened to have bhang wala milk in a religious ceremony. Now he is really worried that it will show up in his urine or blood. But i told him it might not be checked in the test
Anyone with knowledge please guide if "thc" levels are checked in the medical test
Yups man everything is checked ! Get ready to drop down your jockey ! Even girls are not spared. ( obviously girls are checked by female medical staff )
I feel UPSC or DoPT should clearly state this in the notification that candidates with certain medical ailments will not be accepted, which will avoid any inconveniences later on.
But as a proactive measure, I suggest please keep a close look of your BP, sugar etc and do regular exercise. If you have eye issues, get it sorted out in time. This is long term planning, as when you think of doing it(post mains) you may not have enough time.
Medical tests are conducted for: 1. BP - should not be more than 130 and less than 80. 2. Blood and Urine sugar - for sugar 3. BMI - max. 25-26 is allowed. So ensure you are not overweight. If you are then they will first conduct a blood sugar test - fasting and pp. Then if there is any confusion then they will conduct HbA1c test for a confirmatory blood sugar level. If you fail all of these then they will refer you to the doctor in the hospital. Doctor will check and if required suggest further test to ensure sugar has not affected other organs like eyes, kidney, liver etc. She will prescribe you medicines and provide a retest of medical after 2-3weeks. This means your medical report will be sent to DoPT with delay. 5. Chest swelling - atleast 5 cms difference b/w inhalation and exhalation - problematic for smokers. 6. X-RAY for Tuberculosis 7. Flat feet 8. Eye checkup - colour blindness, eye sight, you need to also declare if you had any operation for eye. 9. Hydrocele - swelling of testis in males 10. Anal diseases - which is evident on external analysis - someone was declared temp. unfit this year.
Safdarjung is the worst hospital as it cited max. issues in candidates this year. Ram Manohar is the coolest. They try to help candidates tide over anxiety.
@mango_dolly brother what do you mean by bmi of only 25-26 is allowed? are overweight people disqualified or only checked if they are diabetic or not? this link mentions that only above 30 bmi you are temporarily unfit. http://persmin.gov.in/AIS1/Docs/Appendix-III.pdf
All these above, don't most of these fitness measures apply to technical services like IPS etc? Eg: the BMI measurement - bec i do remember seeing photos of some previous batches where people seemed on the heavier side
What are medical reqt of non technical services? Bec my glasses power is on the higher side
