http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Where-to-be-born_Index (previously called the quality-of-life index)
http://www.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_life_expectancy_for_a_military_member_after_20_to_30_years_of_service
doubts :
1) most quality of life index use infant mortality rates, life expectancy etc. civilian life expectancy is calculated from birth while military life expectancy is calculated from the day he joined military. How this two can be correlated?
2) Quality of life index is measured in terms of countries. How it can be divided into two groups- civilian and military?
3) In recent years US military mortality rate is higher than Indian military. How one correlates the situational mortality rate of an army. Would the army provide exact data for the numbers of its causalities?
4) if one takes infant mortality rate into account...how can it be calculated for army when they join army when they grew up.?
