Is Posting about institutes rights or wrong explicitly Incorrect?

edited August 2014 in Miscellaneous
Dear Friends,
I am student like you wandering in this ORN to crack civils.I joined and have been posting and replying to the queries of the student honestly and unbiasedly .If someday I explicitly post some wrongs of the institute,then is this affiliation? or is this promoting certain institute.Yes, I may be as a student going to an institute and if I write my honest reviews, then that does mean that I am here to promote them??.Guys I want your feedback as I have really taken aback as moderator has flagged me for promotional stuff.
Pl do check my previous threads before commenting.And I would like to thank ForumIas as it has really helped me in making some wise choices which saved my scarce resources and I hope I continue to contribute so that others would be also benefited even if it takes rights and wrong to be exposed

Comments

  • Guys pl reply as moderator has notified me for malicious activities(promotional activities) and that is insulting as well as disheartening and that renders whole of my contribution useless.
  • You are free to exercise your freedom of speech as long as you keep the discussion within the limits of the posting rules of the forum. These are your inalienable rights and you don't need anyone's permission to exercise them.

    However, if you are criticising someone, bear in mind that the onus of providing the proof of it simultaneously lies upon you. If the forum administrators and (by vested powers) the moderators do not take action, the forum becomes liable to face litigation. The forum is already facing legal notices (as I hear) and could do well to avoid them.

    About why exactly the thread in question was closed, is something that only the closer can explain. I am only trying to explain the general process in the capacity of a fellow member since you specifically asked me. Neither am I a lawyer and nor do I pretend to be.
  • @ArindamSarkar Thanks for your feedback and reply.I started the thread as I knew the reality and I just wanted to make ppl aware.Again its not about institutes or ppl, its about wrong means to gain students.No doubt they can claim but that which is right.When you put a big poster ad and you give tall claim then you should deliver that too.And on the most count this institutes do not.And I am against that.
    I will explicitly name the right or wrong of the institutes or persons if they are deceiving the students and wasting their resources.

    @Madhu
    My dear friend,

    I won't go into nitty- gritty of ForumIAS rule book. I don't bother to read it either. But I have observed that moderators had not been consistent in their approach. May be because there are too many moderators and their discretions and interpretation of rules differs from person to person.

    In your negative thread regarding a particular institute, moderators went too far. See the biasness in the following thread which is ALIVE till the momemt I am typing this message.

    http://forumias.com/discussion/1705/bewarefrauds-in-the-coaching-marketvajiram-history-teacher-others

    This thread even crossed all limits.

    So don't dishearten yourself. You had good intention I know. I share the similar view regarding most of the coaching institutes. But avoide these direct attack (one of the quality of an Officer). Share your view moderately if somebody ask "Please guide me how is particular institute".

    Hope you got my point.
    Best wishes.

    @Madhu

    Another example: your own thread which survives:

    http://forumias.com/discussion/3917/against-exploitative-practices-of-rajender-nagar-book-sellers

    Look at the moderator's comment on your first comment. Even he/she seems to endorse your claim by not opposing/closing it.
  • @Gulfam_Hasan dats the best analysis seen on forumias and thanx for your time. @Gulfam_Hasan for the first time @root messaged me and that is surprising. and that too for such a pity thread and the best of all he closed the thread without any discussion on it.And he mentions that your post have been flagged as promotional by many users.And I think I have got 2 likes for that post.Heres a msg betn me and root..
