When i said closed participation, i meant to bring in more motivation and sharing of different papers. But those will be shared in public later. Anyway, closed the community now. Working on IYB summaries. Will share when done.
  • please share strategies for mains 2013.
  • @Abhijeet357 what do u mean by your question above? Are you even expecting an answer to your question? Be specific, begin by telling about yourself, and what PRECISE doubt you have. Don't post vague questions here.

Sorry ! I mean books, class notes and other resources for sociology. I have read many blogs but they give the list of books but dont share if they had joined any coaching or followed any class notes.
  • @ Neyawn Please give the list as you posted for the prelim exam !

For sociology, coaching notes don't help in making you understand better. They are only used to cover some topics of the syllabus not covered in standard books.

Just go through the standard books. My combo was, for p1, haralombos/ritzer. If you find some topics missing, cover them from coaching notes.
For p2, i solely relied on mahapatra notes. Will read some standard text books this time.

Read standard books, used coaching notes as a supplement to cover the topics not found.
  • For paper 1 , one of my close friends did only Haralombos and ended up with 186 in paper 1. Why don't we have his interview here? They gave him 102 in Paper 2 for no absolute reason! He ended up with a worse score than the previous year also :-(

@gambittt is right. Use the notes to cover those topics which are not covered in books. So that you don't miss out anything in the end.
  • Can you refer a question bank for Sociology with chapter wise questions?
I don't want answers with it (If there is no such kind of QP- then anything is considerable)
It will help in revising the syllabus according to the needs.
Or at least anything that will be helpful in this regard.
I have Mrunal's previous year papers which i will go as last resort.
Or the Jawahar's question papers are to be seen.
