Govt asks UPSC to postpone Civil Services preliminary exams till clarity on syllabus is reached

    Jul 15, 1:53 PM

Government has asked the Union Public Service Commission, UPSC, to postpone Civil Services preliminary examination till the row over syllabus issue is resolved.

Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh told reporters outside Parliament House that government wants clarity on the issue.

UPSC aspirants are demanding the scrapping of the Civil Services Aptitude Tests, C-SAT.

They say C-SAT is discriminatory against Hindi medium students. The students are also demanding a four-year age relaxation for appearing in the examinations.
  • This is the reason why Hindi should never be the national language. If any protest shud have come, it shud have come from a less known language not the largest spoken language in India.
Amd if indeed CSAT is scrapped because some guys, in a continuation to their yearly circus, street protest in Delhi, I wouldn't advise any talented professional to venture into these services because it has gone to the dogs. You have better chance of chasing your dreams howling on a street than being an honest officer.
And scrapping the CSAT? CSAT requires the mathematical skills of a toddler. What it requires is logic, imagination and an analytical brain which I fear is a rarity.
