Bhai I don't know what is FC exemption.would you please explain
Those who want to improve their rank to get into a better service can get an exemption from joining the foundation course that runs from September to December. Till last year, this was allowed for those who cleared the prelims exam of the following attempt. Post mains, they could directly join their respective service training academies.
Since prelims is in August this year, nobody is sure about how FC exemption would work this year.
During interview, they ask you questions from your service even if you didn't attend the foundation or training. Happened with my cousin this year. She took EOL and thus couldn't answer many questions. I think I got a lesser rank because I didn't do well in the interview so there is no point writing again if the process is going to repeat.
Did anyone saw rank 129 . That person is SP in Manipur[Ukhrul district] . Written after gap of 4 years . Cracked the exam in 2010 and joined IPS . Strictly an IPS freak , but couldnt understand why he wrote again .
Anyway he cleared again nonetheless of tough job schedule . Just imagine how much questions he might have faced during his personality test for writing again .. So dont loose hope folks . If you wish to write again dont give up that zeal in you . >-

Does the exemption mean that we don't have to repeat the FC at all...or is it done later? Also do candidates lose out later in terms of posting and promotion or pay....thanks in advance

FC has to be done post the service training, probably with the junior batch. I do not think seniority/posting is affected just by getting exemption from FC (it is just a matter of 3.5 months).
got 912... Looking for some company and voila... found this thread... Pub ad seems to be butchered as some say.... Good luck for all in the efforts of their improvement..... hope v have enough time n juice to nail it better again......
My dear friends , there is nothing called butchered or subjugation of one optional subject. Plenty will be there ,in this year too, cleared with all those 'odd' optional subjects . Its all in expressing your views and examiners understands it , simple . If you think UPSC havent done justice towards you , you are the sole one responsible for it
I am already in service in my institution which has no qualms about relieving me anytime. Also I can get eol leave from this place as well. So if I wanna improve my ranking, should I quit my current job as soon as I get the offer letter in July and ask for extension from joining till January or should I go on eol from my current job till December exams and give acceptance letter to civil services when it comes in July and join the services in January? What's the better deal?? Any inputs??
