Corporatisation of Media | Issues and Solutions

edited June 2014 in Miscellaneous
With RIL taking over Network 18 recently, concerns have been raised about increasing deterioration in the quality of journalism and how corporatisation of media is a major contributor to it. With most media houses bleeding money and investors eyeing profitability, corporatisation is perhaps, inevitable. What are the dangers of such a phenomenon? Lack of editorial freedom, skewed coverage ... what else? If this thing has to be regulated, which issues need to be kept in consideration? And what solutions can employed by the govt. and TRAI?
