    Hope you guys are having NCERT 11th[cultural]standard books with you , especially Book 1 . It contain hell lot of info , that too if you could scrutinized the same you will find Lots of questions had came for prelims and mains. .

    I sincerely wish that you don't get to experience the 2014 or any further exam cycles :). But since you have asked, i think ancient can be covered from TMH manual. Medieval is something which i too have never covered, so i too am waiting for pooja's reply.
    TMH eh ?! :-? Even though I have this book, haven't studied ancient history from it.. Time to bring it back into action!! Thanks for the suggestion :)
    cover ancient from ncerts they are more than sufficient...

    some direct questions were asked by upsc from the new ncert books you can search the questions and the source.
    Bro, I have studied these ncerts for ancient and medieval but still was stumped in prelims while answering history questions!! :-?? So I need some books through which I can answer all questions perfectly!

    I m referring ancient of oxford by R.S.Sharma .. and for Medieval of Orient Blackswan by Satish Chandra .. these both books are reprint of old NCERT ..
    I think its time I look into Ms Pooja's advice a bit seriously! /:)
    have u studied both these books ?? In the sense, will it answer most of the questions asked in prelims ?

  • Yes , offcourse , I hv studied ancient complete and medieval to some extent(half part is remaining) .. but it really helps ... supplement these books with culture of spectrum ...

    What's the title of the book you are referring to? is it old or new NCERT?? Please confirm.
  • New , its around 16 MB in size I guess . Title Fine arts , Introduction to Indian Culture
