Removal of Election Commissioners (other than CEC)

edited April 2014 in Miscellaneous
Is the process of removal for non chief election commissioners same as CEC? Or they can be directly removed by the President on the recommendation of CEC?

Also, what is the meaning of warrant under his hand and seal, with regard to the president?

CEC is the only one who has security of tenure. Other ECs are removable by President, on the recommendation of the CEC.

"Warrant under his hand and seal" simply refers to a warrant with the said person being a signatory to it- say a direct order for appointment or removal from the President bearing his signature unlike a communication from the Secretary or Principal Secretary to the President containing the latter's order.
