Writing practice group for Mains + Sociology for CSM 2014

edited April 2014 in Miscellaneous
We will have this here as imo it is better than watsapp.
Plan would be to have seven members or seven groups

Sunday = GS 1
Monday = GS2
Tuesday = GS3
Wednesday = GS4
Thursday = Sociology paper 1
Friday = Sociology paper 2
Saturday = Essay

Every group will form 4 questions on their respective days and all other people will upload a snapshot ( or type it here but snapshot of sheet is better as that way we can have writing speed and clarity also )
We can have this thread till 1st of July and after that we will move on to similar thing for prelims if our initiative succeeds.
Similarly we can add EPW or IIPA articles which are relevant to sociology portion.

In next 3 days we will form the groups and start it on 10th april 2014. All group members can exchange their numbers that way they will have a mini-group also.

  • Plan looks ok.
    My inputs:-

    1. Cant commit on 4 answers for socio for 2 days (I am not giving it much time considering that it could be on its way out or may be a syllabus change is on cards,even if it stays. I know this could be just me, but it doesnt seem wise to me to spend THAT much time on it and repent later). Others are free to take their call . all of us are not at the same stage in every aspect. :)
    2. Does this allocation for essay mean 4 essays in one day ? X_X

    Preferences: GS1,GS2,GS3.
  • @My_Time_Is_Now :- Nah one essay !
    But i feel after giving this mains that only thing which will set one apart are optionals , essay and ethics.
  • @uzma_ali - agreed. :) The GS gap lag can be easily covered in optionals, essay and ethics.

    @uzma_ali There seems to be a lot of apprehension and confusion about change or altogether deletion of optional subjects.Therefore, I would suggest a few things:

    1. As for now, let's not write answers of optionals(though,interested people may discuss them)

    2.Instead of uploading GS and Essay answers(which people do for a while then stop doing) or typing the complete answers here (which takes a lot of time for people with slow typing speed like me :P) , let's just write the main points one would like to have in her/his answers.

    3.Posting relevant EPW,IIPA,IDSA,Frontline,Downtoearth,Yojana etc. articles with the focus areas underlined or marked and subsequent discussions of them.

    Thank you
  • @vayam

    Yes you are right but precisely for the same reasons i talked of groups so everyone can choose a group for himself. So if somebody doesn't want to attempt optional questions , its totally fine.

    And uploading thing depend upon particular person , if he/she want to upload full or type main points it is again a personal call.

    Apart from that i am in total agreement with you :D
  • anybody here ?

    hello everyone...can't we meet at a common place in ORN like at any study room and sit down their with our notes and then practice answer writing for GS all 4 papers....here the things will become more complex and less yielding.....My name Nitish Tripathi and my cell no. 8285182386... i am ready for the coherent works..kindly comment with all pros and cons
    thank You
  • @uzma_ali ji - did anyone cantact you personally apart from here on the forum (asking coz you mentioned quite a few profiles )
    @everyone - can we have a list of who all are willing to participate.
  • @niti - not everyone is staying in delhi so it wont be possible for him or her.. (ex.- me, who can visit once in 15 days or so, I reside in NCR). We can share notes btw, but collaboration n planning has not yet reached that stage. Nothing against your idea :)
