Activating Night Mode on your Windows System

edited April 2014 in Tools & Technology
For all those who spend a lot of time on pc here is what they would've missed.

Enabling night mode on pc :

-open personalisation (right click on home screen then last option in pop down menu)
-open ease of access
-open magnifier tool
-reduce magnification from 200 - 100
-go to settings and turn on colour inversion
-pin magnifier to task bar
that's it you are done

Now whenever you launch the magnifier tool the pc goes into night mode and you can enjoy the view :-bd

@root I tried searching that whether it has already been on site or not but in vain. So if you know that it's already given somewhere then please delete the post else remove these last two lines.

Thanks

  • I use a simple little program called PangoBright download from CNet. It works great and doesn't invert the colours on the screen. It just reduces the screen brightness to below hardware allowed level by painting a transparent gray tint on the screen.

I have tried a similar (heavier) program called Flux that changes the colour temperature (bluer vs redder). It automatically computes and applies the appropriate tint based on the system time (commensurate with the estimated natural light).

(Download and use at your own risk).
