Candidates with IFS as their first preference, or with PSIR as their subject can expect plenty of questions on international relations. What are the major international events/ foreign policy issues questions can be asked on?
Ukraine: What should be India's Stand? Keep in mind that Russia's is an all-weather friend. Can India just be silent as it is or it should go China way to say that "We believe it is the Govt of Ukraine to decide as it is a sovereign country". By this, they have appeared Pro-west but can be interpreted as Pro-Russia also. Diplomatic, indeed.

India must take a very calibrated position.Its known that there are deep links between ukraine and russia:civilizational and economic...hence hawkish stand taken by russia or EU can lead to long civil war and bloodshed.hence india must try to be neutral and push for dialogue between d 2 nations and possibly a sort of confederation in ukraine with west as one part and east+south as another
@sananthan for me major issues are bangladesh turmoil, syrian crisis, ukraine issue, india-israel relations, india-vietnam and other asean members than recently concluded bimstec than wto diplomacy, india-africa relations also there are many more important issues.

NSA 8. Internet governance/Cyber Security 9. UNSC reforms->India's aspirations 10. SCO and India 11. end of SAARC? Does BIMSTEC hold promise? 12. Durand line, Macmahon line?

Is India playing her cards well at Ukraine crisis.. or giving china an incentive to go aggressive on arunachal border...
I really believe that India should remain neutral and probably even take a slightly pro-western view. Blatant support for self determination through referendum can be disastrous for a country whose nation building process is not complete.
