I saw the fist episode of satyameva jayate. This time it was related to "Rape". In the episode it was explicitly mention that in Medical Colleges student are being taught that you should treat the "victim" firstly on suspicious ground. Especially male doctors should be much careful because she might put the blame on you. Is this really mention in the medical books or is it due to male dominance society ?
What??? Seriously? Absolutely not. How is the rape victim supposed to 'put' the' blame' on the attending doc? There is lack of sufficient training in handling sexual abuse cases but whatever you've mentioned is odd.
In that show an NGO was claiming that Doctors are not provided with sufficient training on how to handle rape victim. Absence of standardize procedure. They treat this as 5-6 mk question. Her statement was even supported by an gynecologist.
Yes, that's true.Training in collecting evidence and rape kits is much required. But this stuff about suspecting the rape victim is bogus.Aamir Khan thinks that the medical community is full of unethical people and he loves criticizing us.So don't take everything in that show seriously.

Nowhere are students taught to handle the victim on suspicious ground nor it is mentioned in any book. Regarding medical examination, whenever the examining doctor is a male, a female is required to accompany the victim during the whole examination. She might be victim's attendant or a female nurse. In such case her name and signature is also obtained. The question of framing the doc itself is bogus.
Now regarding if the docs are adequately trained to handle such cases, I must admit, in most cases they are certainly not!
u r confusing about a female attendant. when a male doctor examine any female patient or rape victim, he should manage a female attendant. May be they inferred it as suspicion on doctor's part. it's just a standard protocol to follow. but few things are really needed to be changed like 2 finger test ( pv examination ) and doctor's remark of " habitual of sex "
Mr. one-man-NGO-cum-actor has a strong bias against doctors. No doctor could treat his height problem, I guess.[Moderator note : No personal attacks.]
Let him speak whatever he wants, it just makes him sound more ridiculous. Haven't watched his B.S. though (neither do I plan to). I can't stand to look at his glycerin tears and teleprompted empathy - it's worse than his half truths and TRP-minded spicy lies.

getting a bit overly-critical,aren't we?and just because of a lame comment(haven't watched it so won't like to get into this debate but let's say he was wrong). He might be shedding glycerin tears, might be showing off "teleprompted empathy" and all for the sake of TRPs but one thing you cannot just shrug off:he has brought a number of issues and burning ones at that right into our drawing room via his "idiotic" show.At least give him that.
@ArindamSarkar Must say that having enjoyed your witticisms all along on the forum, I am a little surprised at the line of your attack. Although I am hardly a fan of the man, I would encourage you to watch at least one episode of the show (not this episode, you might be biased due to the remark).

I am biased against Mr. AK. It's just in reciprocation, since he's biased against docs. I have watched a few episodes of the 1st season, till he went Rambo on the medical community. Some strong points did trickle out between the drops of glycerin. Kudos to him for that and the positive impact of the show.

I'm not against his show, I'm against the exaggerations and villification of docs in his show. Hope he trumps Oprah is POSITIVE social impact. Even if an iota of good comes out of this show, I'll be glad it ever happend.
