Hey guys can u guide me which area will be better for the preparation of upsc and State pcs in English medium in overall environment , coaching , test series area wise , rent etc
mkn area (nehru vihar) is good for state pcs - whether english or hindi medium. branches of dhyey nd drishti in orn are just front offices. core staff (faculty, copy evaluators, interview support etc) for these state oriented coachings are in mkn only.
rent in orn is arnd 10k for an average furnished room room and 13-14k for nicely furnished room. patel nagar is only a tad cheaper - 8-9k for shitty room, 12k+ for a decent room. mkn is cheaper thn orn.
some tips frm personal exp: - choose a room with non-resident landlord. that means, avoid rooms where landlord lives in same building and watches ur day to day activities. - if u r going for a classromm program, prefer to hv ur room as closer to coaching as possible. whn the program is over, move away to a cheaper place. - prefer to rent a room with word of mouth, online resources etc. avoid brokers amap. brokrs will push u to favored landlords. orn, mkn etc. r cluttered with brokers. evry broker just has limited inventory of 10-15 rooms and all he wants is to push u into any room and get tht brokerage of 50% - u cn take services of broker if nothing else works. it's okay. dn't waste time. i rented my first room via broker only. - make a grp of trusted like-minded friends living nearby u. if sm issue arises, u shud hv smone to ask fr advice/help.
1 last thing- u wl hv a strong feeling tht u r spending so much on prep and hv invested so mch in it, spending ur parents' money etc. so u shud work wonders nd get selected nyhow. it doesn't help in prep and only pushes u into stress. avoid it. this feeling troubled me fr almost 5-6 months in beginning until i made peace wid it.
