Friends , A new site faltugs.com has posted the following article on this link : (copy pasted entire article here in italics)
Message from Senior IAS officer to facilitate the IAS preparation and guide the aspirants of UPSC. This is to just convey his/her message nothing else.
Copy pasted message as follows
” Are you preparing for IAS/IPS/IFS etc? (Civil Services Exam?)
Then, this might be of interest to you.
Around 50 serving Civil services officers from IAS/IPS/IFS/IRS/IFoS have come together to provide informal mentoring to civil service aspirants. They hope that it will motivate and give confidence to the aspirants. This programme is absolutely free.
This mentoring will be done virtually, thru the whatsapp application. Mentoring is done both collectively and individually. Collective mentoring is done by 12 mentors in a group, for about 90 minutes every day, generally from 9 pm to 10.30 pm. Individual mentoring will be done till the exams, at those timings convenient to the mentor and mentees. One mentor will have 2 or 3 aspirants as mentee.
The 5 groups are:
Pre-prelims group: for those aspirants who are planning to appear for prelims in 2015 or beyond. Here the aspirants get exposure to civil services and are counseled by very senior officers on the suitability of aspirants for civil services.
Prelims A: for those who are appearing for prelims the first time, and in 2014.
Prelims B: for those who are repeating prelims, whether they have been successful or not earlier.
Mains: for those who want mentoring for mains exams.
Interview: for those who want mentoring for interview.
One aspirant can be in ONLY one group. Each group has a chief mentor who will keep a close watch on the aspirants and ensure that the common goal is achieved. Apart from the chief mentor, there are around 10-12 mentors in each group form different services who help in collective mentoring, apart from each of them mentoring few aspirants individually.
This discussions are beyond what is available in internet, books etc. The idea is to motivate and provide with insights that will enable students to clear the exams, even if they are not able to get a formal coaching.
Are you interested? Then, how to join?
Send a detailed message about you, including your percentage scores in 12th and graduation, number of attempts made in CSE, and whether you have cleared prelims at least once or not. Send message thru whatsapp to 9663369333. Incomplete message will be ignored.
This mentoring is basically for those bright aspirants who have cleared prelims at least once. However, to encourage the fresh aspirants, we will take them, provided they have scored more than 60% in the 12th (PUC) AND more than 60% in the degree.
Clearly indicate which group you want to join. No changes will be made later. Check with the group details carefully before you decide. Please note that the group reserves the right to accept or reject the aspirants. The whole programme is informal and pro bono.
Best wishes on behalf of the group! “
The number 9663369333 was also mentioned in a post on this facebook page by Vijay Bohara on may 22,2013. In this post he is talking about BESCOM and some problem in bangalore. This seems quite contradictory. So I thought may be someone here can help.
If somebody has joined this group , please discuss here for its genuineness and usefulness.
Quite surprising that I haven't heard or seen this before! This seems to be a wonderful initiative if it accomplishes its objectives and delivers whatever it promises.. But in that link given, there are no aspirants comments at all..? Usually such sites would have been filled up with comments... Is this something uploaded very recently or is it existing from a long time, any idea ? Also I'm a little sceptical about these 50 retired bureaucrats teaching via watsapp!! ( might also be true)
Yes the group is genuine. The mobile number mentioned belongs to Mr Mannivannan IAS[https://www.facebook.com/manivannan.ias.7 ]. He has started this initiative with his colleagues.
Its genuine but this notification came out more than 2 weeks ago...I came to know through the fb profile of an IAS officer in Karnataka called Manivannan. The same was also shared by Alex Paul Menon, Anshul Mishra and few other officers so its legit...its worth a shot anyway...my belief is the slots would be filled by now
