  • Why in the final result only 90 vacancies are shown while in the notification there were 110 vacancies??.
This year in prelims stage also selections were less compared to previous years.
    Did the seats decrease?

Yes that's why they only selected 223 aspirants for interview which earlier used to be in 300+range

The rest of the seats will be filled with the reserve list. A reserve list is maintained. This is how it is done for Civil Services too.

Reason (I am not 100% sure if this is why it is done but I have heard this from a senior) It happens because some candidates who are eligible for reservation would have got in the list as Open Merit (as they have cleared the General cut off for Pre, Mains, Final and are within the age/attempt limit of General category). These candidates have not used the benefit of reservation till now and are in Open Merit quota. But they can avail reservation quota during allocation for getting a better service w.r.t. rank (for CSE) or preferred cadre. At that point they are considered as a reserved quota candidate (as they have used benefit of reservation, so no longer in Open Merit) and there will be a vacant position in Open quota. After 2 to 5 rounds of allocation there will be a few vacant seats in Open Merit. This will be filled with the reserve list.

this is not applicable to IFOS. no reserve list is maintained.

Exactly. And if a reserve list is to be made it is written in final result. This clearly shows seats were reduced. Time for rti. And lets see how many seats are notified this year
  • Guys any idea when will UPSC release marks of the mains ?
    Thanks
  • Cutoff released
  • cuttoff jyada nahi badi yar last time se
  • Is the difference between general and obc so much every year? General is safe at 740 odd mains marks.. obc safe at 600.

Probably more obc candidates take ifos mains litely/skip (?)

740 = 220 odd in each optional + 150 each in gk, english seems like the golden combination. Can't wait to see the marks.
