I was thinking of creating a website. I have a few doubts, not related to UPSC prep, but I am hoping that some of you may able to help me clear my doubts.
I plan to buy a site address from godaddy. Doubts are-
1. Importance of domain names? Since .in is the cheapest, I plan to buy that but I want to understand the significance nonetheless.
2. How to post advertisements? If I wish to post advertisement from flipkart, do I need to contact flipkart?

1) If you buy domain like .com or .in then it will help you for better google search page ranking (SEO). and it will also define your website's Alexa rank.
2) There are some free hosting services(like 000webhost.com, 5gbfree.com) or you can buy paid one when you starting to get too many visitors.
3) And about earning from your website- Google Adsense is paying very good amount for original works only like Blogs without copy pasted material. best alternative for adsense is Chitika and Yahoo Yield Manager.
