When is the prelims? I glanced through the doc but did not see the prelim date. Also what is mains syllabus? Are they planing to change it as per UPSC? @prateeknsit As far as I know last year there were 2 optionals in mains.
In 2013, Prelims was conducted in June. I know bcz I applied for this but dint appear. So, We can expect prelims to be around June or even July. It can be a practice for UPSC prelims.
i am going to write has mains thgis year i.e. for has 2012 ..yes pattern has 2 optionals and is totally diffrent from upsc...they improved the prelims pattern a lot though

@RAJANAKIN Great that you are giving HAS mains this year. Can you give few tips as to how HAS prep is different than UPSC ? I would like to give HAS this year .
differences: 20 questions from himachal context quality not so great mostly fact based not related to current events a lot(although they are improving very fast as compred to last years) u have to do a lot of guess work in paper-1 if u dont u wont be able to clear the prelims as u wont know 70% of questions fully...u have to make necessary eliminations no multiple choice coreect only single choice so elimination plays a big role here
